Oh yes, it was such a heartbreak!!! :-) I was really rooting for California Chrome as I\'m sure most of us were. Very sad. I feel especially bad for the owners.
it was a stunning race, at the belmont. we too, are sad that California Chrome lost. he\'s still a champion to us all,and has the heart of a champion. he did so well, and had to race vs the other horses who were more rested, that didn\'t race in the derby or preakness. we feel sad for Chrome, his trainer, and owner. Chrome did very well, and we\'re proud of him. he\'s always a triple crown champion in our hearts. :)
I agree with his owner that ONLY the horses that race in ALL three legs of the Triple Crown should be allowed in ANY of those three races. Chrome was tired after 3 races in 5 weeks, so the fresh, rested horses had a huge advantage.
I say change the rules to make it fair.
I love Chrome!!! He\'s the \'people\'s horse\' now! Maybe he will have a little son to race in the next couple years..
Although I don\'t normally get into horse racing, I happened to turn on the TV just when they were introducing the horses and jockeys. The race soon followed. California Chrome was lagging behind. I was surprised at how poorly he did. But every horse has an \"off\" day just like humans!

It\'s a shame the horse didn\'t win, I was working so didn\'t see the race but was rooting for California Chrome, he\'s still a great horse!!
