Heart isn't in it lately..
This doesn't have to do with my eating or exercise habits.. just life.
Thankfully I've managed to stay on track with my eating and exercise.. they seem to be the only things keeping me sane in the last few weeks/months. Especially exercise, which helps with the stress and worry in my life.
First, I was assigned a new position at work.. while I was happy to still be employed full time (my original position went part-time and I was moved into a new position in January), I am not at ALL happy with my new assignment. I used to LOVE my job and look forward to going to work every day, now I get that dreadful feeling in the pit of my pouch and dread going in every day. NOT GOOD. I finally polished up my resume and started sending it out a few days ago. I take everything very personally and feel very guilty about this, because I don't want to leave anyone in a lurch, but nobody is going to look out for me but ME. I'm very scared about job hunting again, but I think it's a wise move for me at this point. When your job stops becoming enjoyable it's time to move on to something that makes you happy again.
Secondly, some close friends of mine are going through something extremely traumatic, and it's affecting me as well. It's a tragic story.. their abused 3 week old niece is fostered into their care with a fracture in just about every bone in her body.. they nourish and love her back to full health, see her through her 1st birthday last Sunday, only to have a judge send her back to her mother 2 days later. It's heartbreaking, and we're sick to our stomachs over it.. if you're interested, a Tampa news station covered the story - my boyfriend is this couple's son's god-father and the couple is his best friend and best-friend's wife:

We met baby Angelina when she still had broken bones and grinding ribs, and got to know and love her over the last year and now she's gone, and we'll probably not get to see her again anytime soon. It's so sad, and I'm kind of a detached party (compared to the foster parents) but I feel like I've suffered a loss too and am so worried about this baby's well-being. I'm sickened, and so disgusted.. but helpless to do anything.
I work at a TV station and alerted the news department to this story but they have yet to do anything. I want to do something to help, but I can't do anything but offer support in this terrible, terrible time.
God help that little angel.
Anyway, my running has been a good stress reliever for me. The effort I put into running helps to relieve the pain in my heart, mind, and soul and to help relieve some of the stress I am under at work and in life in general.
Funny how things work.
