Heard back from the doc..

Well last night I got a call back from the doc's office. He got the tests in and they don't show anything that he can fix surgically. That was a major blow to me as for the last two months I've been placing all my hopes on surgery. I had to wait 7 weeks for my first appointment with him, and then two more weeks to finally hear there is nothing he can do. That's a lot of waiting and getting your hopes up to have them dashed.
They are referring me to a physiologist and I have an appointment with him next week. They gave me two options to chose from, and one of them I had already attended. They are the ones who gave me the injections and nerve cauterizations. They are the ones who referred me to physical therapy and finally told me there was nothing they can do for me. So I'm guessing that the other doctor (who I chose) is basically the same thing. I'll once again do all the running around and end up being told that there is nothing they can do. I will say this, however, I will not take any more injections. Period. They have never helped for more than a few weeks and were incredibly painful. I won't put myself through that again. I have enough pain to deal with as it is. So yeah, my hopes are somewhat dashed.
I also set up an appointment with a psychiatrist the following friday as I am going through a very deep depression. I'm also very anxious. I just don't want to get loaded up with medications, nor do I want this to be a long term thing. I know exactly what would get me out of this "funk," and that's getting the pain to at least a manageable level so that I could return to work and start doing stuff around the house. That is what has me down.
However, I am happy that I have found this place. Its nice to know that I am not alone in this. My heart breaks for others who are dealing with pain as well, because I know how horrible it is. But at the same time, its nice to know that there are people out there who really do understand and empathise with my situation.
God help us all.

I\'m so sorry sweetie.... but I truly do understand why you won\'t get any more injections. I know that the \' alternative\' treatments aren\'t working for you and I would do the same thing if in your place. I don\'t want injections either.

I have never seen a physiologist. I sure do hope that this one may be different than the other one. I am glad you are seeing the psychiatrist. If there is one thing I know for sure, constant pain is so depressing . I\'m not on any antidepressants because I went through 8 in about a year and a half after I was diagnosed with Panic disorder 9 years ago ( another thing I have to go with the pain.. ), and the side effects were just too bad for me. I do know that some people take Cymbalta, and get pain relief along with their depression. It may be something that\'s offered and something to consider.
I do also take Xanax for my panic disorder, but my doc who\'s prescribed it for 9 years has now cut me off . I have a scrip with one refill until hopefully the new PCP will prescribe it. If not.. I\'m screwed.. ( don\'t even want to think about it right now ).

I know that your pain is the cause of your depression and anxiety. I understand. you know I do.

I\'m glad you found DS too. you absolutely are NOT ALONE.

God Bless you.. and you know I will keep you in my prayers.

Huge hugs ~
