UCSC's hormone therapy

UCSC's Hormone Therapy on Health Program (HTPH) is a comprehensive approach for women who are experiencing a menopause-related hormone imbalance. By regulating hormone levels, HTPH can promote the body's ability to fight infections. In some cases, the treatment can even increase the production of antibodies. For those who are ready to start the transition to hormonal treatment, SHCS medical providers can help them navigate the process. The first step is to complete a baseline medical assessment. This assessment will allow the physician to determine potential health risks and future health needs.

The UC SHIP program offers comprehensive medical and mental health coverage for transgender individuals. The insurance plan also covers hormone therapy with an appropriate co-pay. In addition, the pharmacy provides convenient direct billing to SHIP enrollees. The program also covers a substantial portion of the cost of gender-confirmation surgery. However, the amount covered depends on the location of care.
