Health and Safety Awareness Course
The health and safety awareness course is designed to help participants understand why the health & safety laws exist, and how their actions can affect others in the workplace. The course will also explore the responsibilities of both employers and employees with regards to risk assessments and what should be done should an accident occur.
This course is aimed at people working within the construction industry and meets the requirements of basic occupational health and safety awareness training described in O. Reg. 297/13. Delegates must be at least 16 years old to attend the course, and if under 18 years of age must bring written parental consent with them on the first day of the course.
Having trained employees is an important way to promote a culture of safety in the workplace, as it encourages them to take responsibility for their own health and safety. This can lead to fewer accidents and injuries, which in turn leads to lower healthcare costs and absenteeism. In addition, a strong health and safety culture can help to ensure compliance with regulations, which is vital in many industries.
This online HSE awareness training course aims to give you an understanding of why the law exists and how it applies in your workplace. The course covers how to identify hazards, how to work safely, how to record risks and good practice associated with COSHH and safe manual handling. It ends with a short, multiple choice quiz, and if you achieve over 80%, you will receive an email certificate, which can be posted for an additional cost of PS9. We recommend that anyone who regularly works with hazardous substances also completes the COSSH awareness and RIDDOR courses.health and safety awareness course
