Healing Journey
I am taking a healing journey with my husband. He has PTSD and I have anxiety. Both of us are on medication and we recently decided that it is time to take the healing journey. We both have realized that this journey is very difficult but we also know that we both are tired of PTSD running our lifes. That is why we both joined Daily Strength becuase the hardest thing we have had to deal with is that the people around us including our families don't understand what we are going through. They don't understand what PTSD and to be honest I didn't either until I decided that I was going to find out. I've been reading a lot about PTSD so that I can understand what my husband feels and how I can be supportive. I am tired of hearing that my husband needs to man up and work to support our family. My husband more a man now than he ever has been because he is taking the first steps to go forward and walk the healing journey and I am going to be right by his side every step of the way. It has not been easy, in fact it has been the hardest thing in my life. I go through all the emotions sometimes all in one day and it is no fun. Sometimes I fall and sometimes he falls but I thank God we are together in this because if I fall he helps me get back up and when he falls I help him get back up. It may take time and we may be walking wobbly but we make sure we walk together. This journey is going to take a long time and with God on our side I know there is a light at the end.
