Heading Back To Reality

Tomorrow I go back to work. I need to get busy and be around people. I have wasted most of my time off by simply relaxing when I could have gotten a bit more done. I will say it was a  very relaxing time where I did take much time to regroup and refocus... so I suppose that is something.

I was invited to nephew's in laws for Turkey Day and initially was looking forward to going. I suggested to my BIL that I come to see their new apt (which is very close to where I am considering moving back to and working again) and we could all go to Mary's together (another good 1/2 hr from there). he informed me that my sister was spastic and not going because my brother had her scared of covid.  I still did consider it, but the kids have a carload already and truth be known I did not relish the thought of going over and hour each way then possibly coming back in the dark when they are out in Bambi turf. (very secluded)  In the meantime my neighbors and I were both recovering from surgeries (him a hip. me the eyes) and she suggested we get together. So I am taking dessert (pumpkin pie was the request) and we will spend some time visiting.... but I won't be gone all day.

This also gives me time as I told coworkers since we all work Friday we will have our own Thanksgiving then. I am making a cheesy chili cornbread casserole they all do like. I am off Thursday but working the rest of the weekend. So it will be nice to not be gone all day.

On Monday I did finally text Mary to thank her but tell her I thought I will stay put... and explained why. Later yesterday my BIL texts me and said my sister changed her mind. Did I want to go? I told him thanks but  I just told her I wasn't coming. It may sound a bit childish, but I am a bit tired of getting my plans yanked around and  had finally decided what I wanted to do.  (Besides this does keep me away from any political and covid crap they obscess about.)

So back to work and back to people.... Cross fingers and let's see how I fare???  lol

Hugs and warm thoughts to all of you out there,

Kim

Hugs my friend and have a Happy Thanksgiving. I was with my daughter when Canada had it the beginning of October. Just me and her. We live very close by. A 5 minute walk. What is wrong with relaxing and regrouping. I can tell you, things will not develop legs and walk away. They will still be there tomorrow. Gee, I wish I could wake up and my kitchen cleaned and laundry done, folded and put away. Nope that is not going to happen. Anyway, stay safe my friend.

Glad you got to rest, don’t have any guilt over that. Your eyes are worth a little r&r.
Take it easy for a while at work too.

yes I understand the wanting them to make up their minds....my sis told me they were going to KY for Turkey day....then I found out Nephew and his wife were going....then that they were driving in their own vehicle....now it is set that sister is staying here due to covid and I am now invited to bring the sparkling juice for the dinner on Thursday.....I am ok with that.....I had tried other plans....they never materialized and I thought I would be going to Dennys...

You did the right thing by relaxing and just taking time to re-energize. There will always be stuff to get done, no matter what and it’s hard to find time to just be. So pat yourself in the back for taking full advantage of your down time by just doing whatever the hell you wanted.

Happy Thanksgiving!
