He\'s Back.

The "he" in that sentence is "me". Although my ankle feels weak - oddly, actually both of my ankles feel weak - I decided that I had sat on my fat ass long enough and I went for a real run this AM. Surprisingly, it felt good - I was expecting to be tired and out of shape, as I've been eating like complete crap (both in quantity and quality) - but sometimes, I'm just in the right place, and I ran like the wind. OK, I jest - I didn't run like the wind - I ran like a winded, 38-year-old, sweaty guy - but I did 2.4 miles in 21:14, which isn't bad.  My goal remains to get down to sub-20 mins, which I guess is something close to an 8 minute mile. It's not the fastest time, but I think anyone who can run multiple sub-8-minute miles must be in reasonably good shape. I'd like to get back to the 5 mile run I was doing, but honestly I'm a bit scared...while I think I'm a bit young to stop running because of potential damage to my legs, I do wonder what I'm doing to myself if I really start running 3-4x/week.  Getting old sucks.
