he pulled another fast one!

Yes - he didn't attend school again but this time he announced it openly as the driver was sitting in our driveway to pick him up!  He told me that he's feeling low.  He is depressed and wants to go back on the Wellbutrin.  He also indicated that he's trying to quit smoking so that has added to it. "Well, buddy, the Wellbutrin is supposed to help with cravings and you knew that!"  So - I asked him if he would like me to make an appointment for him and he said yes.  We agreed on the time and so it was set.  Come appointment time - he doesn't want to go.   Tired, tired, tired.  Husband talks to him as if things are okay.  T is angry with me because I'm not happy and get after him for the crap he's putting me through.  I have no patience left.  No more Mrs. Nice Guy.  I am done.  If he doesn't go today - his cell gets turned off an no more $ for chores.  And he can forget about Karate.

It sounds like he is making progress. It\'s so hard to stay off their emotional roller coaster ride, but you weathered the storm and sounds like things are settling down. I use to smoke cigarettes and quitting is a b&tch! Moody, irritable, depressed, nervous, etc...are all symptoms. I think it\'s great that he talked to you and the two of you talked things out. That\'s progress!!!! Stay strong! ((HUGS)))

This is where you have to stay strong. His \"good behavior\" following the bad does not irradicate it. I have been saying to my son for years that he has the ability to \"sprout a halo\" at whim in order to get what he wants. As a result, husband and myself have our radar set to high alert when he takes the garbage out, asks me how my day was, or says something crazy like \"I think I\'ll go to bed early tonight\". These behaviors are almost certainly followed by sneaking out of the house, stealing, or drug use, or some suspicious activity. I have resorted to writing down dates and events to keep up with how badly he behaved just PRIOR to suddenly becoming an angel. Now he knows we are on to him. The down side (there are many, actually) is that when he learned that we were aware of his pattern, his reaction was ANGER. So now, the pattern also includes a period of hostility when discovered. I just ignore it and tell him he made his bed, and must lie in it. I will not be a sucker, and I don\'t want you to be one either. Good luck.
