He has his fighting shoes on

We were back up early today and back to CMC in Charlotte. He was a little nervous about getting in the ct scanner so I gave him a .5 Zanax.  That will put me to sleep for a while but Steve is a big man so when we got there he wanted another one, said he could not even tell he had taken the first.  So, he took another one. While we waited  I sat across from him.  He began to look at me with that come on grin if you know what I mean.  I said to myself,  maybe you didn't need that second one.  HEHE!
He did good, actually went to sleep when they did the ct. They let me stay with him while they measured him in the 40 million dollar machine.  I felt so sorry for him,  my big strong husband laying there. I hate this sorry cancer for what it has done to him and for all who suffer with it.
They will call us next week and tell us when he will start. It will be about a 60 mile trip one way to Charlotte NC. I am just glad that I can drive in the heavy traffic. Two of my sisters won't drive on the interstate must less in the city.  So he is blessed that I can drive him around. LOL  But I am the one blessed to have had so many good years with him.  (although I have wanted to take a rolling pin to his head a few times,  you notice I said wanted to)
The weather today is 85!!  I can't believe it.  Gonna get some sunshine if I can.  God bless you all, I pray for each of you.

Hello Wanda, I am sorry, but your 1st paragraph about giving Steve the Zanax and the \'smile\' he gave you made me chuckle with delight. I am so thankful that Steve is able to get this treatment. He and you are a precious couple and I want to see you both together for a long, long time. 85 degrees! Oh how I wish I could warm up under that for just a day. It has been very rainy here and my bones are cold, cold, cold.... I hope you can get out and enjoy the sun... Please keep us posted on Steve\'s progress.
Love and best wishes to you both. Linda

Hello Dear Wanda!

Steve\'s special \"smile\" made us all laugh. Too cute! I\'m glad that the Zanax relaxed him. I\'d prefer to sleep through CTscans too.

Ray\'s doc is 50 miles each way from Sumter....so relate to the drive you have. After living in Charlotte for 30 years...I think Columbia\'s traffic has gotten ALMOST as bad!

Keep us posted about when Steve will start his treatments and how they go. We\'re praying, Hon.

Love You, Ingrid

It hit 86 degrees here today. I also had my sunroof open and the radio on, like Carol. Oh...it\'s fun to play \"young again\"! hee hee

I can certainly relate to so much of this entry. I hate cancer and everything about it. Seeing my 6\'4\", 230 lb. husband ran through those machines, hooked up to IVs, lying in that hospital bed for 5 straight days of chemo, unable to move for 3 of them while he had a catheter directly into his liver...it was heart wrenching. He hated the MRI machine and the PET scans. It is just horrible watching your husband have to deal with all that stuff.
I also had to do lots of driving. 600 miles all the way to Houston each time. For months we had a 10 days in Houston, 10 days home schedule. And that Houston traffic! I know how tough it is. But, I know you find the blessings in your life just like we did. And as much as I hated cancer and the whole experience, God has definitely used it in my life. I am a better person for having known Dan and stronger for having gone through that battle.

Dear Wanda, thanks for the giggle, and lots of love to you and Steve as you move onwards with the journey. Prayers for you both that it will be a smooth one.

Wanda...I am keeping my fingers crossed that the results from the 40 million dollar machine are good. We have been blessed to have these wonderful in our lives...I can\'t say that enough about my Buddy...now that he has been gone for almost 17 months I realized more and more each day just how wonderful he was and how he completed my life...Hugs, Ellen
