Having a Rough Day

Every time I even think about the paperwork I have to fill out before I go for my appointment at the transplant clinic I just start to cry. I know this isn't imminent for me (yet) but I kept thinking, as I stood out on my lawn, that I'm not going to live as long as I hoped to. I hope I see my kids get married, have children of their own and get to be the Grandma I wanted to be (my kids are only 13 and 16, so this is a long way off yet). My sister-in-law had a liver transplant that was supposed to make her well again - and instead she died five months later, never getting healthy again. I soooo want to breathe again, but I'm just so scared.

Freeze, I\'m so sorry that your sister-in-law didn\'t beat the odds and get well after her transplant, but you can\'t compare yourself to anyone else and there have been many successful liver transplants that have occured. You are an individual and can\'t compare yourself to anyone else. I can understand you being scared, but you need to believe that it\'s going to be okay and you WILL not only see your kids get married, but will dance at their wedding as well. (((((hugs))))))
Blessings,
Kim

I know, and I don\'t need a new liver (though that Cellcept was scaring me!). What I will need is new lungs, unfortunately, at some point. Or maybe not. Maybe I\'ll coast along on 50% for the rest of my (hopefully long) life! Sometimes this crap just gets me down. I watched my sister-in-law\'s family deal with her death and don\'t want to do that to mine. :o(

Thank you for the support, though. Sometimes we all need encouragement!

Believe in the power of positive thinking! I hope and pray that you get to live a long full life and get the chance to do everything your heart desires! I understand how afraid you are, and for good reason. Watching your sister in law go thru a transplant and not survive would have been so very hard to do. I\'m rooting for ya! Hugs, Jodie

Thanks, Jodie. That paperwork can wait for another day. I did a \'fun\' version of the questionnaire with my family - just to make it something comical instead of dark and dreary. Like the question, \"How many hours in a day do you require oxygen?\" I said, \"24 hours a day, doesn\'t everybody?\" I mean come on, that\'s true, isn\'t it? :o)

Tee hee! Yup your absolutely right! We all need 24hours of oxygen a day! I\'m happy to see that you can make fun of your situation. We have to laugh, otherwise we\'d be crying all the time! Hang in there girlfriend! Hugs, Jodie

You have to lighten everything up. My Mom was recently diagnosed with cancer and when we went to the cancer clinic and she had to fill out all of these questionnaires I offered to do the \'psychological\' one for her. I think I got the evil eye. hahaha
