Have you ever wondered ?
Have you ever wondered how god keeps it all straight? How we are where we are at any given time ,, why we meet the people we meet at any given moment?
My oldest son went back to college last week . We had to find him a room to rent for the school year
We looked at hundreds of places on the internet .Looked at about 20 places in person . We found one that he finally liked in the basement of a house near school , near buses , near his partime job. All is well
Met up with the landlord , worked everthing out on price ,,move in dates etc, At the end of the coversation it comes up that the landlord and I live in the same town just a few streets apart . Small world seeing that this school is three hours away .
We met up last night at a local bar last night to exchange rent checks. When I saw him he looked very sad , very down , just a beaten man . I asked him what was wrong and if he wanted to talk about it . At first he said its private and he was not wanting to talk . So we sat had a beer , watched baseball on the big screen .
Then out of the blue he says "you have been through a divorce haven't you"""
Im thinking holy crap how would he know that . I said yes ,,,, I have ,,,, he says I just signed my papers today ...
He went on to talk about how he had almost ended his life twice just to avoid the pain he was feeling on this day .
He asked me if the pain ever goes away .His wife of 18 years left him for someone else. Are stories ,are lives were almost identical.
I told him that yes through the grace of god the pain does go away , the sun will eventually shine again ,,, and stay as close to god as you can,and if you need help ask for it.
His plans of taking his life have passed but still his heart ,mind and soul are broken . What he said he really wanted was someone to talk to,, someone who had been in his shoes . God knew it ,,,, and made it all happen ,,,,, unreal . We sat there for three hours ,,,,,,, just talking , sharing ,,,,, god does send us people we need ,,,, I just have no ides how he keeps it all straight.
