Has it really been?

Has it really been a whole month? Wow. Everyone is almost fully adjusted to being a huge household again. The bedtime routine has taken some work. I'm back on my meds. Had to go to the ER a couple weeks ago because I couldn't breathe, and they said I had bronchitis and gave me antibiotics and codiene laced cough syrup. It was very helpful because I was hurting too bad to fully cough.
I took my step-daughter to the pdoc when we got home and she changed meds. She's now on Lithium and off Lamictal. The pdoc wrote the prescription for thirty pills even though after a week she was supposed to up the dose and take two. She doesn't have enough pills to makeit through the entire month, so we are headed back tomorrow. She also needs an increase in her Trazadone. And her own prescription of Vistaril. I have been giving her my lower dose ones almost daily for the panic attacks.
I have not spoken to my step-daughter's bio-mom since leaving Flint, MI. I have both of her children. Does this sound normal to you? *sigh* My heart breaks for the little girl I am now taking care of. I still have not gone to the welfare office to get her on Medicaid and SNAP benefits. I need to do that, but it has been difficult to do much of anything without a vehicle. Yeah, I junked out my p.o.s car, so I have no wheels. Dad's car has been having overheating issues, so it isn't reliable. I borrowed my grandmother's car for the trip to the pdoc tomorrow. I'll pick up the application tomorrow on my way home.
My son and step-daughter are both having jealousy issues with having the little sister here. My step-daughter says we pay more attention to her little sister, and it's not fair. My son says my step-daughter orders her little sister around and it's not fair that he can't. Well, we put a stop to the 'A----, do this for me.' real quick, not because it's not fair that he can't but that it's not her place to do anything for either of the others. He also does not like it when I get them into bed. I tuck them all in with a hug and kiss on the forehead. My son says I shouldn't hug and kiss her because I'm not her mom. I don't think she should be denied affection because I didn't birth her. I can't say that I love her like my own, like I did my step-daughter, but I do care for her. Parenting is hard.
It's time to go tuck them in. G'night.
