HAS ANYONE HEARD THIS?
IT WAS ON OUR TV STATION LAST WEEK OR SO. THEY WERE SAYING THAT A LOT OF PEOPLE WHEN THEY LEARNED HOW TO DRIVE WERE TAUGHT TO HOLD THEIR HANDS ON THE STEERING WHEEL AT 10 AND 2. NOW THEY'RE SAYING BECAUSE OF THE NEWER AIR BAGS THAT IT IS DANGEROUS TO HOLD YOUR HANDS THERE. IF THE AIR BAG DEPLOYS IT CAN KNOCK YOUR HANDS OFF THE STEERING AND YOU CAN LOSE CONTROL OF THE STEERING WHEEL. THEY SAY TO PUT THEM AT 9 AND 3. IT WILL GIVE YOU BETTER CONTROL AND LESS INJURY TO YOU HANDS AT THAT POSITION.

Yes this is true. Our Granddaughter when taking her drivers test was told by the instructor this same thing. It was news to us but does make for a good reason to change positions.

HELLO, IT DOES MAKE SENSE. BUT NEW TO ME TOO. I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO DRIVE THAT WAY SENSE I HEARD BUT IT\'S REALLY HARD WHEN YOU\'VE BEEN DOING IT ONE WAY FOR SO LONG, THEN YOU HAVE TO CHANGE. LOL! HUGS, CHRIS
Thanks for that information. I hadn\'t heard that and I don\'t want to be wounded. It seems as though the car I purchased after being involved in an automobile accident in 2008 is an idiot magnet! It was hit in the parking lot of the library while I was inside. Sitting there doing nothing to nobody and somebody drives up and messes up the side of it! In November last year a drunk rear ended me at a red light. How do I know she was drunk? She got out of her car and announced it to me!
