Harvested Soil
We harvested my little eggs yesterday. We got a perfect dozen eggs, and found out today that eight fertilized. Or the way she phrased it, "Today you have eight embryos that are doing really well." Good. Last time we had 11 eggs and 9 embryos. Close enough. This will give us plenty to play with. Wouldn't it be great if one of these days we had some frozen ones? The process was a lot more painful than the last two times I've jumped these hoops. I was hunched over as I walked, and got really grouchy on the car ride home. I was sleepy and in pain and that is not a recipe for cheerfulness. We also had a lot of traffic to contend with. That ride took forever. I slept most of yesterday, into last night, waking up about once every hour to take a sip of water. I had to take two Vicodin to get a little peace in the abdomen. This morning when I got up to take my multiple pills and vitamins, I was very dizzy. So I've spent the rest of the day in bed. I think it must be a reaction to that sedation and the Vicodin. I said I was going to sleep through this whole process, and apparently that's coming to pass. One bright spot was that last night at 8:30 I was vaguely aware of someone coming to the front door. I heard James tell the visitor about our 12 eggs and my increased pain. When I made an appearance downstairs later that night, it turns out that it was Mom, and James was making steady progress through a batch of chocolate chip comfort cookies. Suffice it to say that I've been working on them this morning, and well, they're gone. Maybe Mom will bring another batch today! I have a quilt that I really need to finish by tomorrow, but I think I just can't do it. Grr. I hope everyone is doing well out there in DS land. I'm thinking about you! Kay

Continue to take care of yourself. Listen to your body and rest, rest, rest.
Cookies are good comfort! Don\'t worry about that quilt, it\'ll get done...sometime!
I\'m so happy to hear about your 8 lil\' guys (or gals)!
That\'s good news about your retrieval and fertilization! Way better than mine, so I\'m thinking positive thoughts for you. Hopefully the discomfort will get better soon. Let me know when the octuplets are due. :-)
I\'m glad you had such a good fertilization rate! And thank goodness for chocolate chip cookies!
