Hardly any responses
i know the site changed and a lot do not get on as often as me...but a comment was made about no responses to journals and I understand..now that I have been on and written some journals there are no responses as there used to be.
What bothers me is new moms that come here, what happen, how do we know when someone needs help, or are new. I have recommend this site to so many moms the last year yet if there is not the support what happens? I would like to understand the site more, wish we could IM. This site helped me so much in the earlier years...I just don’t see how if I was new I would have felt the support. It’s no one to blame except like me trying to figure out how to use it keeps me from coming on. Can it not be somewhat more personal like before..I remember how many times I cried out for help....now how to help me understand this site. How can I recommend it to other moms I meet if I don’t understand. Finally, I did learn how to do pic. Sorry just don’t know how it works anymore.

Hi Sandi, I hope you will keep trying? I don't get on to FMO every day but several times a week I do. And there are others that are checking in regularly.
I think the change in the site frustrated a lot of our members. As I used it, I've gotten more used to the site. The only way I got used to the new site was to explore it. (That's how I learn best anyway). Also, I don't think everyone is getting email alerts on a regular basis. Mine just started coming in regularly recently.
Ann M. still posts on the discussion page when a new mom is here & asks us to welcome her. I agree - the new moms need us & we need each other. Go to your groups, click on that, then FMO & that will bring you to discussion. :)
Have a good evening.
Love to you and dearest Kenny, Linda
It is an ongoing dilemma for sure to be welcoming to all who join us and to respond to journals as they are written. I'm not sure what the answer is??
I believe that far more women log on and read than reply. I'm not sure if sometimes they just don't feel that they have anything to say that has not been said or is of "value." I have journaled about this and mentioned that even replying with a hug and a "thank you" for sharing means the world to a mom who has shared her heart.
Also, FMO is a place to come and to be for a while and then to move on for many. That's all okay, because I felt that way about Al-Anon. I attended faithfully for about six years or so and then it was time for me to move on with all the knowledge that I had gained and to pay it forward in any way that I could. I believe this might be the way many feel about FMO. They are so very grateful for what it gave them and then they have moved on. Some circle back around and that is wonderful and I too remember with such appreciation those first responders so to speak who helped me by simply being present and offering their understanding and also giving me hope.
We indeed are a work in progress and suggestions are always so very welcome.
If you could please give specific ways that the site is not making sense to you that would be helpful and we will do our best to guide you. You did learn how to post a pic and that is not easy to do, so way to go!
I am here to help in any way that I can and what I have learned is through "pushing a lot of buttons." lol! You will become more comfortable with the site the more you are on and navigating it, I promise!
Gentle care,
XO Joanie
I admit I don't join in every time...when I am feeling overwhelmed I don't want to be less than encouraging.
Hugs, maryLou...Jenns mom forever
So agree, this is not like before. I feel so out of it lately that I do not want to impede any healing for others. Just keeping my head above water. Sending some peace to all today. Hugs, xoxox Kathy Jennifer and Marissa's Mom
It gets hard to sift through all bereavement journals not just FMO. I only check in once or twice a week. I try to get a comment to all I know or are new in their loss of a child. So many others to work through to see if they are child vs other ones in their circle of life. I feel disconnected also at times
Don't give up we all need to get better at this
Hugs Penny
I know after the major changes to the site, a lot of moms, myself included, wandered away. I think we just need to keep sharing on FB and the other media's we're using that this is still the best (my opinion) place to write our personal journals. The more we talk about this sight, and use it ourselves, the more we'll see moms rediscovering the benefits of it.
Peace, Love and Healing to us all~

I too miss the old site. I read Facebook and often respond, but do not share my deepest feelings as I share my page with my husband and to be honest, some of my rantings are hurtful to him. He wants to help me and there are times I don't want him to try! Would be nice to have a page when we join that explains how to use the site. It took forever to figure out how to access journals.
Loving hugs
I'm here more, learning, can't always keep up with everyone or new moms, chemo brain.
I did not know that there was a FB UNTIL just lately...glad I found it.
We do not have as many new Moms joining FMO group here on DS.
They frequently just get as far as the Bereavement Community, so I
try to watch for grieving mothers there and send invitations to ForMomsOnly group.
More join ForMomsOnly on FB, as so many are already on FB and it is easy to join and
they are familiar with the application. When I send a welcome letter to new moms,
I encourage DS/FMO .
