Hard Time Right Now
My oldest son Jono has finally set his wedding date. September 23. I am very excited because this has been a long time coming since he had to wait and see if he was going toy Best Man, JERRED!!!
I brought this up, well tried to at Christmas, as as soon as I started to say something Jono says "Do not worry Mom it is already handled". Yeah right I am the master worrier. I have been emotional lately crying at the drop of a hat. I know there are morereasons then this, but this is eating at my heart so badly I just do not know how to get passed it. This is a biggie for me and I do not know how to deal with it. Any ideas are welcome as I am just beside myself with all of this.

I understand how tender these days can feel for each of us that are not shared with our children as we always hoped and imagined they would be. I know that with the weddings I have officiated and also attended that often when a special loved one is no longer present in the physical sense families do something that represent them. Whether it be a candle with a picture of their loved one, even a chair I have seen "reserved" for the one who is "missing" etc. Not sure if this is what you are asking?
This is Jono's day and as difficult as it will be for all of you it can be a "both/and" moment and not an "either/or." You can acknowledge Jerred, and also celebrate Jono. I even have a passage that I use with weddings that remembers all those who are no longer with us earth side and I have had couples desire that reading.
Hoping that you can sort this out and I'm not sure if anything I'm sharing is helpful or not, yet please understand that I have felt this way often when my Littles are born. I always imagine that Douglas has held them and gotten to know them "first" so that helps, yet the ache to not share in that celebration together always pulls tightly at my heartstrings.
Loving care dear Susie and congratulations to your son and his future bride. Your heart can contain all the feelings and I hope you have some peace in the midst as that is vital.
XO Joanie
Congratulations! I experienced such a strong feeling of happiness for you all. Praying that you will feel free in this moment to celebrate Jono and his bride. Do not be afraid, I feel confident Jerred will be there with you all. Hugs and Prayers Elissa
I know that Jerred will be there. I am just angry that he will not be there to be Best man like he is supposed to have been. God and are discussing this a lot to get me past these feelings. I know Jono and Amanda have something very special planned, I am just not to know until that day.
I am very happy for them both and very excited. It has been a long time coming.
Thank you both, your words ALWAYS comfort me.
Lots of hugs and love to you all. I always have you in my prayers.
Hi Susie, my grandson got married this past summer and his dad, my son, is in heaven. Josh had the minister say a few words at the ceremony about Ed and at the reception my daughter in law carried Ed's picture when "parents of the groom" were announced. It made me so sad that Eddie wasn't there but I was proud of Josh because of the way he chose to include his dad on his wedding day. But it hurts; I understand. Jerred should be here.
Congratulations to Jono and Amanda and you! Love, Linda ♡
Thank you Linda
