Hard times
Went to the cemetery this morning and left some flowers at my son's grave site. It is his birthday on Thursday and he would have been 43, it is hard to believe that it has been six months since he died of suicide. I am still having a real tough time forgiving him and hope the days comes when I can do this. I miss him very much but I am so mad at him for all the people he has hurt by taking this way out. It has left a real void in a lot of peoples hearts and I ache for his two wonderful children and his wife. I have a wonderful family and a lot of support but I still feel so empty. I have a wonderful wife and daughter and know the hurt they are going through. We have been going to a group session once a week, but it will end this week we are planning on doing another one later in the spring.

I pray that you will be held by God and realize the mercy He has shown us, especially your son....you will show him the same mercy one day when you are able to forgive him. I pray it is sooner than later. I do know how hard this is but strangely, I have not been mad at my son. My circumstances are different, though. My son was painfully hurt by his wife and best friend and yet, I still find it hard to believe my confident and wonderful son could do this....so many questions....God be with you, dear friend. Love and hugs...dale, brandon\'s mom
Six months for you - eight years for me. At times, I still don\'t believe it, still get angry, still ask why, still feel so bad for my grandson who hasn\'t had a mom since he was five years old, and still feel so empty. These thoughts still hold true but honestly they don\'t come nearly as often as they used to and I do think I have pretty much forgiven my daughter as I understand the mental illness being a part of it now. The main thing, I think, is to take this journey slowly, one day at a time. and go to any support group where you feel comfortable. Been there, done that. Sincerely, your friend, BarbaraWawa
I wish we could have some answers about why people do the things that they do.... We want to understand, and we aren\'t able to. It\'s hard....... Love and Hugs, Kathie
