HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!! dinner at red lobster with br//dinner at k's//advice on olive garden
went out to Red Lobster with br and almost screwed it up. told him i'd call when i got out of the doctor and he thought i'd call when i got TO the doctor. he sounded sad when he left a voice mail. i enjoy him, so i felt horrible. this would be the second time i dissed by accident. if i say this to k or j, they'll be like, second huh, as i screw up more than that with them probably all the time actually. br is kwl. knows how to go out, and is very open about where. go where ever you want, order whatever you want. he's one of those. my first husband was like that, but it took about a year for that to come about. lol.
i haven't been to Red Lobster in a while, but i don't remember why i stopped going there. i had lobster tails with this alfredo thing with shrimp. normally i get the ultimate feast when i go there, i'll read the whole menu, and order the same thing every time. lol. they still have the ultimate feast, same price too, but a smaller feast on the plate. they also have a special for a 4 course meal for $15.99 that i recommend, as desert alone at red lobster is now $6.50. seems high to me. i really am like that and i think it drives br crazy. never thought i'd end up like this, though there were signs of this when i was young and a lot of guys would rib me for it. i always have the leftovers boxed. even in my youth i wouldn't eat at a restaurant without prices on the menu. i like choosing where to go by specials and coupons - its fun that way. and nowadays i try to avoid the processed food places as i get sick from that anyway, like ruby tuesdays. love their food, but i always get sick from it. ditto with outback. the bill was around $63 for two of us, which isn't bad, especially since he just went to a new place recently and his bill, just for himself, was $64, which pissed him off. he was probably figuring out what he could have "bet" with all the extra money as he gambles almost daily.
br takes me to places he used to go to with his wife, but hasn't been to since. its four years since she died of cancer. he's close with his sister, so surprised he doesn't test the waters of memories with her. he also has to deal with his neighbors watching where he goes and with whom...lots of negatives when you live in suburbs at one address for a couple of decades. lots of nosy people.
the servers started doing "pre-close" at 9 (they close at 10) and carpet sweeping near where we were sitting. i think the last time i went there was with kv and they did the same thing then. bad idea, if you want a decent tip. i read on line its also ILLEGAL for servers to sweep or vacuum while patrons are eating, so hopefully i'll send a letter to red lobster about it (and maybe get a coupon for that? lol.) they also serve ceasar salad with iceberg lettuce instead of romaine now. even wendy's has romaine. the girl "boxed" my dinner FOR me, which is what they used to do long ago anyway, but br felt she was rushing us, which is weird on a weeknight and near-empty. don't mean to be picky, but i think red lobster just lost me as a customer again, but i like the $15.99 special. try one more time and then they are out.
olive garden lost me because i hate their music (the same company owns both restaurants). they kept playing 40's music and the music was making me sick, even though olive garden is a good deal. the trick with olive garden is you order the dinner and then fill up on soup and salad bar and box the dinner to eat the next day, so its a two for one, every time you go. too bad their music sucks.
had dinner at k's, the following night (and this actually makes me tired. i have trouble going out two nights nowadays, (i also have to REST, when i walk to the marina with the girls!! omg!) i think because i'm working five days instead of four, i need a day to rest. i'm also getting old, obviously). k made pork medallians in sauce (excellent) and lots of veggies, and fresh strawberries (he soaks them in sugar water first and that is the trick. fabulous). with fresh cream on them. really good. drank both nights, margueritas with br and mai tai at k's.
still meloncholy about michele, probably will stay this way permanently. orange outdoor is meowing at me outside now so maybe it will be my friend. and rusty mostly shows up, wish they would let me pet them.

You sure have some good eats. I get hungry just listening to you. Enjoy and keep going and doing while you can, it is a shock one day you wake up and say to yourself, I am old. So many things I used to do a year ago are now off the menu. Live Life while you can.
I am sure the orange outdoor and Rusty will in time let you close to them.
Have a great cold weekend. ha ha XXOO
the red one showed up today, DURING THE DAY, which it never does - wish i knew if its edna\'s kitten...i can\'t get near to it to look and if it is, then where was it all this time? it went missing in november i think? it meows at me to get my attention, but still runs away. rusty showed up last night and ALWAYS runs off. this will be a huge problem if we are ever moving.
