Happy Valentine's Day!
Today is Valentine's Day, which Geo and I don't really celebrate. I cooked him a nice dinner- chicken and green bean casserole. Work was fun, since they had some stuff going on for V-day. My boss gave me a shower gel from Bath and Body Works, and the volunteers got a free lunch. It was nice. Also, some of the reps were giving out candy, so I had a couple of chocolates and a cupcake. I got a bunch of appointments done as well. There was another volunteer there today and I felt jealous. I want to be the only volunteer they need. I need to stop being jealous of her and be happy that she's there helping all of us out. I was talking to my boss, Terry, and he said he appreciates my hard work and if a position opens up in his department (Manged Care) that he would consider hiring me since I do such good work. I also know how to do a lot of the stuff now, so I would need minimal training. I learned that they expect people to do 20 referrals a day, and I can do more than that in my 5 hours there depending on how long I'm on hold for. I can do a bunch of things at once, so that's not a problem for me. I just need something to keep me busy while I'm on hold.
I also found out today that my brother in law is in the hospital. His gallbladder died and was rotting inside of him so they had to have surgery to get it out. The infection was spreading, so they had to remove it asap and he's on some strong antibiotics to clear the infection from his body. He was jaundiced and all that, but he's getting better now. He's up and walking around the ward, so that's good as well. Keep him in your thoughts, please. My sister is feeling better now that he's recovering and all his symptoms are going away. It's going to mean big lifestyle changes for him, since once you get your gallbladder out you can't eat as much fat, and so he's going to have to eat healthier. I don't think he has to change and become a vegetarian like my sister, but he's going to have to modify his meat-eating habits to less meat.
I worked almost a full day today. I came in at noon and left after 4:30. I was just tired and didn't want to work anymore, so I left early. I was having stomach problems, my IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) was acting up, and my bosses got me a soda and some Pepto for my stomach. That's one cool thing about working in the clinic, that there are medicines available for people who need them. It hurt before I ate lunch, and it was getting better by the time I did eat lunch. I came in near the end of the lunch and just took it back to my desk and ate there. There were no seats for me in the room where the food was... there were seats, they just were all taken. I didn't want to make a fuss, so I just ate at my desk. I can't eat and stand.
Mood of the day was jealousy. A couple of my coworkers got flowers, others got chocolates, and I felt left out. I say I don't care about Valentine's day, and I really don't, but I love getting flowers which Geo never does for me. I'm the one that initiates gift giving and such. I know he doesn't have a lot of money, but they sell flowers for cheap here. You can get 5 roses for $3 at work. All I want is a couple roses. I can't remember the last time he got me flowers. I guess I need to be more vocal about it, but I feel bad asking for things from him. But if it makes me feel better, I guess I should ask. He told me to tell him when he was doing something that upset me, and I think it counts if there's something he's not doing that is upsetting me. I just don't think he cares about it too much. I guess he doesn't know how much it means to me.
Food today was good.. I was in my calorie range, even with chocolates and stuff. I'm on the high end, but I'm still in my range. I think after today I will start to eat at the lower end of my calories since that was working well to help me lose weight. Plus, I'm doing more exercise this week so that should help as well. I'm trying to not get obsessed about my weight so I can keep the ED in check. I'm not allowing myself to weigh every day. I can tomorrow if I remember, but today I didn't even though I wanted to. Sleep last night was okay... I woke up a couple times in the middle of the night, but other than that it was okay. I hope I can get a good night's sleep tonight since I have tomorrow off. It's late, so I should be able to fall asleep fast. Stress today was moderate... all the jealousy was getting to me. Hopefully now that Valentine's Day has passed, I can get over it.

Sending prayers for your BIL\'s speedy recovery.
We don\'t do anything special for Valentine\'s day either. I remember ladies getting flowers at work too and the one that always intrigued me was the one a co-worker received from a secret admirer every year. I was so envious!
