Happy sober new year
I had made it 8 days sober, from December 21st to 29th. I had traveled to visit my oldest and dearest friend from college. I told her in the beginning that I was working on getting sober. The second day there, I asked her for some wine. She actually seemed relieved. We drank wine and had a good time together. However, I was reminded in the morning of why I need to be sober. I felt terrible. So, today is a new day. Day 2 in my restart. I am starting to post and connect with people on Daily Strength. I have looked up meeting times and plan on going to a meeting this evening. Evenings are the most difficult time for me. That is when I enjoyed drinking the most. Although I didn't make it up to midnight last night, I woke up at 5am feeling good, and ready to start my day. I made a playlist on my iPhone of inspirational songs that may help me. (Fight Song, Good to be Alive, I Can See Clearly Now, I Will Survive, Jar of Hearts, Keep Your Head Up, Sober, and Titanium). I love music and am looking forward to playing this list.

Ditto, similar story line. I began again yesterday after a four day dry run. Even getting through the four days was encouraging. The possibilities for a better future are good.
Best wishes & happy new year.
