happy red heart day!! (in england its 2/26)//sushi with j//dinner at k's//
i'm such a wuss, i can't even read stuff in my own journal from around the time of my car accident or when the woman was stalking our other house poisoning the water. omg! just remembering it makes my blood pressure hit the roof and i feel sick from it. grrrr.
Happy red heart day, its a good month for it with valentine's day also a heart. good reminder. i had never really heard of it.
the Heart Association asks everyone to wear red in order to raise awareness for heart disease in women. Created in 2004, (so its a new holiday), Go RED day was designed to promote healthier lives for women of all ages (that should really read, for PEOPLE of all ages - both sexes get heart disease).
Today 1 in 3 women are affected by heart disease in the United States, and nearly 44 million American women are living with heart disease.
National Wear Red Day occurs every year on February 26 and is run by theBritish Heart Foundation. February is National Heart Month for the BHF and
The National Wear Red Day is an annual campaign at the centre of raising awareness of heart disease. It was created by the BHF and has gained interest year on year.
In USA National Wear Red Day is the first Friday of the month of February, which is harder to remember, but leave it to USA to make something good into something cumbersome. Look at the photo on line of people in "red" shirts and crack up. is orange the new red? a new shade of red? orange is such a marvelous shade of red -- actually red-orange is, but that isn't what they are wearing. how about fuscia, think that one is there as well. then i realized they are color blind. Maybe they should just say wear any warm hue in the red tones. lol.
For the protanope, red, orange, yellow, yellow-green, and green, appear somewhat shifted toward green in hue, and all appear paler than they do to the average observer.
Protanopes learn to distinguish reds from yellows and from greens on the basis of their apparent brightness or lightness, rather than any perceptible hue difference - so its easy for them to guess it wrong.
Violet, lavender, and purple are indistinguishable from various shades of blue because their reddish components are so dimmed as to be invisible.
Pink flowers, reflecting both red light and blue light, may appear blue to the protanope.
worldwide 8% of men and 0.5% of women have a colour vision deficiency. These figures rise in areas where there is a greater number of white (Caucasian) people, so in Scandanavia the figures increase to approximately 10-11% of men are color blind.
By contrast in sub-Saharan Africa there are few colour blind people - so most black people are NOT color blind. Countries such as India and Brazil have a relatively high incidence of colour vision deficients because of the large number of people with mixed race genes.
The 8% of colour blind men can be divided into 4 different types of color blindness: 1% protanopes 1% deuteranopes, 1% protanomalous and 5% deuteranomalous.
had dinner at k's and sushi out with j. at k's we had chicken soup with alllll kinds of veggies. excellent actually. and dumplings in it. chicken salad and wheat crackers. rum sunrise, less the grenadine. cold duck, there is still about one glass left. we just opened it last week. and peaches. he had peaches with cheddar. and a block of cheddar with crackers and rhine white wine. watched the verdict, which used to be a favorite movie of mine. its very old. around 1981 i think. but it was on tcm and they cut some of my favorite parts like the amount of the settlement at the end which is the best part and the audience cheers because its in the millions. great movie for showing how completely corrupt the legal system is, and lawyers are - even the lawyers representing the catholic church. sick and sad.
saw w briefly. he says his vet gives his dogs a PILL for fleas and it lasts 6 months, so far it works. so now i need to find that. the woman across the lane from us is selling her house. she has an acre of land on the intra coastal. shocked she is selling and a beautiful Grecian screened in pool. her son had been watching the house for her. lots of changes lately.

You and your Cold Duck! LOL! I know you love it! I used to drink it too. Never hear about it anymore!! Don\'t know why!
I do know about red heart month. Heart disease is a major killer of women. I\'m very proactive. I see a cardiologist yearly. I started when I noticed that my anxiety attacks were lasting longer, but the only symptom that bothered me was my racing heart. I wanted to be sure nothing else was going on!
He tested me every which way and my heart is normal. The panic attacks have subsided over the years. When I was in my twenties and lived in Florida is when they began. Probably stress over leaving my family in Jersey and just fleeing to the sunshine by myself. Anyway, the panic attacks no longer exist.
You\'ve had some crazy weather down there, eh?? We\'re due for another blizzard next week. Tis winter. I like winter. I missed in when I lived down south. I do love snow. And the cold weather is easier on my CFS! I could never live in the heat again. I\'m intolerant.
I\'m sorry you have those hideous memories, my friend. I\'m sure you know ways to steer your mind in another direction when they come along. We think that as time goes on we\'ll forget the bad stuff. Not so. It\'s stored in our heads. Think happy thoughts....that\'s what my mom always told me. As a child, I thought she was a genius! xo : )
you missed the cold?! i\'m missing the ten months of summer. in the south summer starts in february. this cold stuff drives me crazy!
i was just watching the pilot to the mary tyler moore show, remember her, such a \"young mary\" and they have her driving on the highway in her white ford sport car and all these hi rises around her. that must have been you. every little girl watching the mary show and also that girl, wanted to be both of those people, and would sit there, when i\'m 18, that will be me. wonder how old mary is supposed to be in that pilot. also RHODA is THIN in the pilot, not overweight like she is later in the show. i didn\'t remember that.
glad your heart is okay, i used to get arrhythmia\'s from the statins. wish i was never on those at all. they did so much damage. they should take them off the market.
mary is 30 in the pilot. mr. grant asks her this on her interview and she tells him its an illegal question -- wow, even back then it was? never knew that.
realized when i do the food thing on journals, i\'m doing the beginning of the movie christmas in connecticut 1945, barbara stanwyck does this over and over again, bet that\'s where that comes from. its my favorite christmas movie since i was a kid, one of the few i actually still watch every christmas and doesn\'t feel like christmas without it.
