Hopefully it'll be much more calmer weather, as the week goes on and that all goes well, with the storm clean up. Wishing everyone continued safety, and healing, as the week begins, and the days ahead. many special thanks, for you all, our dear angel friends, checking in on us, and reaching out to us :) We appreciate everything, with all of the love of our hearts :) We're looking forward to some sunshine :) i've got full updates on our plants, garden, and our plans for this new week, as the summer season continues on :)
after Storm nature. It was quite the sight yesterday, seeing the hummingbird visiting our yard, and getting nectar, during the storm. a very brave hummingbird :) We noticed some very different nature in recent days. on saturday, seeing a huge flock of seagulls soaring in circles over our area, it was very unique to see. also yesterday during the late afternoon ,there had to be at least, 20 or 30, dragonflies all flying around our front yard, above our snowball bush, and our popcorn plants, they were everywhere! :) The eye of the storm yesterday, it getting very calm, and also clearing skies, during the eye going through our area, was very errie, unique, and different. We also noticed last night, tons and tons of crickets, were out, making that crickets sound. We noticed these changes in the nature, before, during, and after the storm, which was very unique nature.
This morning, we had a nice new day, rising and shining :) Last night,Holly and i were so happy we got to watch the TWD new episode, to begin the 11th season :) Going into the weekend, and yesterday especially, we didn't think power would be on, from the storm, and were almost 99% certain of power outages, but our power thankfully remained on here. Our local public utilities, has done an amazing job, over the past years, since irene/sandy storms came up here, and impacted our areas, the public utilities has had workers, and also tree service people, cut down, and cut back, dangerous trees, branches, in our neigbborhood, and all around our city, that helps very much, when storms do track up here. We are so thankful, that our trees, and our neigbbors trees, all faired very well, throughout the storm, which helped keep our power on here. Holly and i enjoyed watching TWD, it was great to see the show return, and is a very long season too, with 24 episodes :) We'll definitely be tuning in, each week, to watch the new episodes :) We all got some good rest last night, it was a very energenic week, and weekend with all of the storm news/updates, and we were so glad, to get some good rest :)
i was up early this morning, enjoying some nice time here on DS, writing to friends, and also getting ready for my early morning nature walk :) we had a downpour here, after 5am, but thankfully the rain eased, by the time i was ready to go outside :) i gathered a big bowl of goodies, and went outside :) i checked our trees, closely, before walking out back into the bird sanctuary area. there were some small branches down here and there, but no big branches, thankfully. :) i put lots of goodies in this area of our yard, and was looking forward. We're excited to get our backyard back into good shape, with putting our canopy back up, umbrellas, and tables/chairs :) There was a bit clearing in the sky for a littlewhile this morning, i always love wheen i see blue sky :) there was still a light tropical breeze around this morning, and felt a bit cooler. it's gonna be getting hot, and humid as the week goes on, with lots of sunshine forecasted, that will also help pep up all of our plants :)
Garden Updates, and Greetings from our Garden! :) Our plants, are doing ok, and are getting their balance back. the storm winds yesterday, were upper winds at times, and some gusts ,were lower winds. Lots of our flowers plants, especially the ones with longer stems, like the cosmos, even some peppers plants ,had leaned over, from the gusts of winds, and the rain.Holly and i uplifted some of them yesterday afternoon, and they will continue to need to some uplifting and pepping up as the sunshine returns this week :) The rain weighing down the plants a bit but overall, all of our plants in our front yard, did very well :) only a few popcorn plants needed to be put back into position of the planter rows. our snowball bush gets heavy when it rains, and as the week goes on, the sunshine, and warmth will help spruce up the blossoms again :)
In our backyard garden areas, lots of peppers, tomatoes, string beans plants, along with our carrots plants, and our spruce tree, all doing well, and almost all of our sunflowers, doing ok :) there's 2 sunflowers, that have snapped steps, from the storm. one is in the back of the garden, Holly and i braced the sunflower against our garden fence, it should still blossom :) we also have our tallest sunflower, the one that's 9 feet, 7 inches tall, the sunflower's stem snapped in the middle. it's leaning over the garden fence, it still has lots of blossoms, that should blossom.along with lots of string beans plants growing amongst the sunflower stem/branches of the sunflower. We're sad to see it snapped, as it was towering so very tall in our garden, and is one of the tallest sunflower's we've had grow in our garden.we'll always remember seeing it towering, and i'm so glad Holly took my picture next to the sunflower, early this month :) The many other blossoms on the same stem, should blossom still, and we're gonna try to get it uplifted somehow, so that those blossoms can be facing the sunshine :) We love our plants, and we care very deeply about them :) seeing them sprout, grow, and flourish as the season goes on, and helping them on their journey's, it's very special to us :)
We're looking forward to seeing lots more flowers blossoming, and harvesting lots more fruits, and vegetables :) We'll be picking some more banana peppers soon :) our fruit trees, peach, apples ,and pears, all did very well, during the storm, and we're so glad, and thankful, as we've had a big growing season for fruit ,and we were worried about losing the fruit to the winds, but thankfully lots of nice fruit on the trees, will make for a great harvesting season in september :) We still have awesome hopes and want too, can some peaches in september :) There's lots to look forward too : ) We'll be making some morepickled banana peppers this week too :) i saw a happy hummingbird visiting our yard this morning, it was amazing to see, the hummingbird visiting yesterday too, during the summer, and how it was determined to make it to the feeder, to get some nectar :) We love our nature friends, and are so happy, some butterflies, coming back out, along with the bees, and more :) it's gonna be getting very hot, as the week goes on, and will be a big week for tending our plants, during these golden days of the summer season :) Happy gardening season smiles :)
Enjoying some simple joys, as the new week begins :) We enjoyed our breakfast this morning, and talking about the episode of TWD, plus getting into all of our daily routines :) Holly and i love to put the sports radio on, around mid-morning :) We're looking forward to catching up on some football news, and all of the excitement of the upcoming football season :) i'm looking forward to mailing some cards on super wednesday, and also writing a new letter, to our dear friend, my ds mum (Bloss) :) i'm very excited to begin some great new writings, as the week goes on :) i've been getting back into browsing some stamps, and coins, also catching up on some coins news :) i may add some more collectibles to my collection, very soon :)

my family, Holly, and i dedicate this flower, with the pink heart shaped design in the blossoms, to our dear angel friends :) Thank you all, so very much, for always being here for us <3 We love you all bunches and bunches! :)

a special heart-felt salute to our tallest sunflower :) i remember when i first saw this sunflower sprout, it was over by where our old greenhouses was. my dad cleared the area in the spring time, and i remember a few days later, this sunflower had sprouted, it must have been a sunflower seed, amongst those old greenhouses, that was breaking down, and the seed most likely got raked over by my dad, when he was putting down grass seeds. i saw the sunflower, about an inch tall, and i transplanted the sunflower into our garden :) it went wild, growing and growing :) The sunflower sprouting how it did, was meant to be, it was the sunflower's time, to grow :) This sunflower made it, from seed to sprout, to growing strong, tall, proudly, and blossoming beautifully :) a sunflower's story :) it'll always spirit soar in the sweet blue sky like this, in our hearts <3
