Happy New Year
I am trying very hard to be positive. Count my blessing and all that. I am thankful - for health, for my family, good friends, a comfortable home, food etc. So I should be happy and I try. But I cry at the drop of a hat. This time of year sucks, especially this year. Covid has been a challenge. We are still hoping that Cevyn and the twins will be able to come here in the spring. They have tickets that they couldn't use in the spring shut down. I miss the meals out with friends. I miss going for a winter vacation. I am thankful that Joe and I haven't killed each other! In fact we seem to be fine with the isolation.
I have been looking forward to the end of 2020 - thinking 2021 couldn't be worse. Now I am not so sure. My sister who is in a nursing home, has Covid 19. My niece said that she was told that there is no treatment other than keeping her comfortable.
This morning my daughter-in-law called and said that 2020 didn't know how to give up. Tiina's mom got a call from the nursing home where her dad lives. Apparently Jim was not responding and they suspect he has pneumonia. Not sure if it is Covid. They wanted to know what treatment she wanted - eg CPR etc. Sandy is torn. She decided that there would be no extraordinary measures such as chest compressions. However medications such as antibiotics would be good. She said she just can't tell them to 'do nothing'. The good new was that the nurse called back to say that he was responding. The really hard part is that nobody can visit due to shut down.
So here we sit. I do a lot of cooking as it keeps my mind focused. I am trying to walk regularly but I have difficulty getting going.
As for our renovations. They should be done this coming week. It has been a bit of an ordeal but I am happy to be rid of carpet.
I know this too shall pass. I am just thankful that I can come here and let it out.
Lisa: I miss you always and love you forever. Mummy
Wishing my SOTH a wonderful year.

2020 was not a good year for me either, hoping and praying that 2021 will bring better days.
I am also getting weary of the isolation, but trying to make the best of it.
Love you Marlene & Joe!

Happy New Year to you Marlene and Joe!! I so understand this post as I feel the exact same way. When is this going to be over. I cant wait. I know that the world feels it yet I am so angry at how it is handled by my job. I have to find a way to let it go. Going to try a new book the Mastery of Self. I hope it works on my mood. Hugs and some peace for us all. Kathy
