wow! i'd be on my way to being dead if this was a hundred years ago. lol.
my thigh muscle healed! yay! and then i did a bunch of walking - including lots of stairs and i'm in pain again. grrrr. but i'm walking 1000% better than i was. its even noticeable. surprise.
bought champagne (cold duck) for mother's day, not even the kind to mix with orange juice and share, which is what we did last year i think. boy, am i getting selfish. for anyone in the south -- publix has MIDS sausage pasta sauce 2 for one. which is a huge savings as its $5 per jar normally (and its the BEST sauce out there). grilling is down to a minimum. everyone is so lazy lately. n brought over the movie "Employee of the Month" its a comedy. (when i was a teenager, i won fastest cashier at a food store where i worked for a few months many decades ago. lol. i was explaining to n that as soon as you get a job in one of those big food places, the number register you are put at, coincides with how fast you are on the register. the registers in our place were numbered 1 - 22. they TIME you.
as you move up to higher number (and faster registers, which means you are good at large orders), the veteran register people say things like, "didn't she just start a few weeks ago -- competition." they are serious. lol. you compete within your store, and then with the chain, then all stores in the state and then the region. each time you win, everyone in the store gets a 5 cent raise to stop them from viciously going after you, so everyone "wins." as the winner you are supposed to get an even bigger raise - unless someone in book keeping steals it, we had that happen too, and gives it to themself. she was suspended for that. wth? as a teenager, you don't expect all this grief over a contest.
after you win the regional, back then they offer you $300 or you go to california for the finals. most people take the money. i chose to go to california. i wanted to go sight seeing and all that. i love travel. who cares about money. have no idea what $300 would be today, if it doubles each decade i guess around $2000 today. i'm totally guessing. when i got to california the competition for customer service in the fast food industry was down the hall, so i entered that one as well, because i had worked in a fast food style steak restaurant before that. i didn't win that one either. but i did get passes to game shows while in california, through a stepfather and brought everyone at the fast food competition with me, which was over 200 people. the whole thing was a lot of fun.
totally worth it. but there is always all this other crap going on. haven't watched the movie yet. (its planned for tonight with popcorn, preferably OUTSIDE. would be even better watching from the jacuzzi.) the movie is supposed to expose all the crap that goes on if a person wins employee of the month, (you automatically are given employee of the month if you win the cash register competition).
the evil step's take on this was: i love when people start "giving" her things. "giving" her what? i won it. then she and her brother would start plotting to ruin things and steal. same every time. since she was ten years older than me and way into her twenties by then, this is pathetic. and since both of them are still like this everywhere they work or try to work. omg! glad i don't know them. they are two stalkers who show up/call/harrass, along with a few of their cousins etc., and anyone else they can recruit to harrass, anytime i'm in or win anything public and they find out about it. sickening. there is also a cluster of lawyers from a tiny lawfirm down south that do this. one of them even flew to spain in the 80's to cause trouble and in the 90's to california to cause trouble. i was like what? and about what? the last one it was he and his wife both of whom are "lawyers" sure don't act like it. act more like thugs. they always warn that people come out of the woodwork if you are public.
i was stalked by a cleaning woman and her daughter for over ten years. and a girl my ex-boyfriend caught breaking into my condo down south, and a few court reporters where i used to work, alllll the way to europe. as sickening as that is. don't these people have lives? its not that people don't like competitions or the arts, its that they don't want to deal with being stalked and robbed. but looking forward to the movie.
