HAPPY LENT!//yaffa blox - plastic crates//joke: aaron karo on vomiting//time share last night jammd

Happy Lent!  This is from the "Vademecum" (pronounced vahdaymaykum).  That is Latin for "travel with me" a condensed booklet for travelling priests.
The idea is to find six minutes of quiet time every day for 50 days beginning February 10, 2016.
People fasted from food from morning to evening, as a sign of repentence and in times of calamity and distress. Fasting rids the body of poisons.  FASTING on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday - those who are 18 but not yet 60 are allowed only one full meal or two small meals. Eating solid food between meals is not permitted.
Shrove Tuesday is the day before Ash Wednesday (or pancake day), people made pancakes as a way to use up their supplies of fat, butter and eggs.  At the end of the day during a fast, you can eat bread, vegetable or fruit, as long as it didn't constitute a meal (a meal in most countries is SIX tastes or six courses - soup, salad, fruit, meat/protein, vegetable, bread/grain.  if you don't have six "tastes" you won't feel full and will continue eating.
Fasting is a form of prayer - prayer in action.  It expresses a person that is willing to change some of the patterns in their life.  Fasting purifies body, mind and soul of other poisons.
"You will not understand those who starve, until you also starve."  Robert Coll

there is a meme that says something like the most difficult goodbye in my life right now is with my bed.  i feel like that.  really catching up on sleep lately and having a lot of trouble getting up for the day.  wth?    the only time our bodies heal or grow is from sleep so i'm going to guess its needed.    if i still hung out at the beach i'd be sleeping or resting through some of it anyway.    that is life on the beach, read, sleep, swim.

the plastic stacker crates that everyone uses (i still use these a bit) are called Yaffa blox.  i never knew this until now.  when did they get a name?
aaron:  " ... my first visit to campus.  I got absolutely wasted and ended up on the floor of the dorm bathroom.  This cute college girl comes in and asks me if I'm OK.  I could barely respond.  She said, "So you're a pre-frosh?"  I nodded.
She said, "OK let me help you out," and proceeded to stick her fingers down my throat until I threw up, which made me feel much better.  I never found out who that mysterious girl was, but I think of her every time I vomit."

so, that was this morning for me.  the last of the ham from christmas i guess?  out of the freezer and it must not be cooked enough at the bone for my body, so it made me sick - like it won't go down.  my throat does that, it like gags me mid-way.  its a new thing in the last few years, so i guess that should be checked as well.  whatever.  the animals enjoy this though.  wth is it with animals and regurgitation?  seriously.
it made me sick last time as well.  have a feeling that last baglet of of leftover ham will have to become soup or part of the cabbage thing or something.
super sunny and beautiful out.  wanted to call the new one, and realized it being tourist-mania (to me this really is week from hell or hell week, i hate all these tourists and bikes and NOISE and diesel smells.  its so gross!  they LIKE this?  i celebrated this shit the first two years i was here because the girls from the office were "dying" to go and just look around and "be there".  right.   like a walk through of venders and think to myself, so?  there are concerts and music everywhere as well, so you ride you motorcycle and go from one to the other and there are bikes everywhere.   the bikes are cool if you like that.
ended up doing that last night because i had to pick up something from someone at one of the timeshares.  its LOADED with bikes, even up here!  WHY?!  and i mean so loaded you can't even park your car or get out properly and i have a small car.  when people say its crazy, what they really mean is its crowded and loud and parking sucks.
anyway, his bike is gorgeous and he has his cell phone loaded with photos of it.  not friends, family or pets.  just his motorcycle.  (i used to know someone from dance, who was like that with his horse.  everything was his horse.  he'd leave the studio early to visit his horse, ride his horse, had a framed 16 x 20 painting in the center of his wall of his office of his horse.  wonder if he is still alive?  that is twenty years ago.  wow!)  i couldn't wait to leave though, last night.
there are three kinds of people for these events:   those who participate, those who work them and make money off of them and those who hide from them or literally LEAVE THE AREA to avoid them.  all i kept thinking last night and today is pensacola, pensacola, though give it a little time and it will be over-run there too.  first south florida gets ruined, now north florida is getting too crowded and ruined.  north west florida already has destin for spring breakers.  wth?   there is a new american girl doll/book series she is 9 and its 1954 and she is from north florida.  never expected that one.  totally love american girl series books.  great way to learn history.
