Happy Hump Day
I have not had any dr appts forever so I was overdue. Yesterday I had to see the eye specialist All is good and while the vision improved another smidge, there is no change with the glaucoma. (woo-hoo) This morning was my follow up with my family dr. I forgot to get blood work done prior to so I need to do that in the next week and she will call me with any changes. She is looking for improvement with A1C and good cholesterol. I did gain a few pounds and my blood pressure is up a smidge so I do need to work on those. I have decided to start up again with Livongo. I had done that and it helps alot. I still have the meters and scale but am going to pay myself for at least a month or so if it is not covered by my Medicare. Not only do they send plenty of supplies but have tools where I can log meals, for exercise, health links, and use of coaches for feedback. Plus all info is recorded an easy to access for dr and self.
Well I got a message from the company about that order I never received . They apologized and said it is still coming but delayed. (Yes, I am sorry to say my stuff is coming from China and hasn't gotten to CA for them to send it to me yet. I still have a trcking number and a link to check on status and they said they would refund an item for free for my inconvenience.
I still have to unload dishwasher and fold a load of laundry. (Progress for me is putting it away tonight instead of in a day or 2. haha) Since noone ever comes, I have a tendency to fold the laundry then leave it on my sofa. I have already just plucked off a thing or 2 as I need them and left it there for a couple of days. (PLease don't tell a soul or I may have to hurt ya! LOL)
I guess I will see if I can make it just past the top of that hump and put it away. (I am picturing myself climbing to the top of a waterslide then tomorrow flying down into the water in 1 piece. if only. ) Enjoy the rest of your day

I do not know what livongo is so I guess it is some snake oil right?
as for A1C mine came down I did one today it was 7.1 which is better than 7.5 I had last time...
my blood pressure she said was a bit low asking me if I was feeling dizzy....or light headed....I said sometimes standing up yes I get light headed....
anyway I am picturing the wedgie of going down the slide in that water park in a one piece....LOL
I had thumb injected today.....cortisone.....it feels better already.....
I'm glad about that thumb.. You're doing pretty well with the A1C. I think the normal is around 7 or a smidge lower, so you're doing great. I have to get blood work done now but am praying mine went down a bit too. My last was 8 which is high but the initial one after I had the steroid injections was 9.9 . Thankfully those days are gone. I'm also crossing my fingers that the bad cholesterol has gone down with the new med.
Livongo is a medical plan that covers devices. When I signed up I downloaded the app and they sent a free test meter and strips and lancets . It is all recorded right to their headquarters and straight to your insurance and medical providers (if you choose to) You can list your food intake, exercise, carbs and it gives suggestions on things to work on as well as feedback from a health coach. It's great to have support especially when feeling wishy washy. They also have a smart scale that records weight and goals and reminders when you don't want to step on the damn thing. lol
When I mentioned the slide, I actually meant that I would arrive at the bottom in one piece (with nothing bruised or wounded) but trust me it would also be in a one piece suit. I did forget about the wedgies. hahaha
hehehe on wedgie......they started calling some of them Camel Toe....LOL (dirty references)
I just checked and normal A1C is 5.8 but the goal for a diabetic is 7.0....
That's good to know. They are always lowering averages so I was worried they were shoooting below 7 now. I've still got a point to go down.
My cholesterol is high and climbing along with my weight I need to start a statin which I’ve been putting off I really don’t like to take medicine
They had me on statin a few years ago but I wound up with severe muscle weakness (on top of already not building up strength). I could not take it. I just started ezetimibe a month or 2 ago. No side effects but have to check progress when blood work is done.
I've been doing really well with the diet and balancing what I am to have (protein, veggies light carbs, nuts and dairy) for the last couple of days. The bp is going down as well as the sugars. I still hsve trouble with the first read of the day being high for a fasting one, but working on it. Cannot go for bloodwork til next Wed morning.
BTW I just found out I am on sister patrol the next few days. There goes the BP!
sister patrol? you doing neighorhood watch? LOL or explain what sister patrol is and why you have higher BP in that duty.....
