Happy Friday

Hello everyone,
Steve saw the onocologist on Tuesday and because he has had some nausea off and on he has given him another week off from the Sutent.  Steve says in comes in waves and is just miserable. But he had not had any since Sunday so he will start back on the chemo on Tuesday. A side effect of the radiation the doctor said.
All in all he has done great.  He mowed the grass last week and did ok. That grass thing is his baby.  I can do it just fine but he refuses to let me help in any way.  Personally I think he is just being stubborn, we have two mowers, I could help but thats his thing.
During the winter we brought our generator down from the building and readied it for a storm.  Well he kept saying I have got to get it back into the building.  I told him he was not going to push that darn thing back up there without help.  So one day this week I looked up there and there sat the durn generator outside the building.  He had pushed the thing by himself. We are talking about a 13 HP hoss generator! and up a hill at that!  He came in the house smiling like he had just won the masters golf tournament!!  I wanted to wring his stubbord neck but didn't have the heart!! He has half of a kidney working and refuses to give up the things he THINKS he can still do. Well what can you say? When I am around I and see things I won't let him pick things up.  He is a big man with a big heart and mind.
My love to all of you,
Wanda

HI Wanda,
Sounds like Steve is doing pretty well overall. Thank God!!
I know this is tough for both of you, but I think it is great that he wants to do things... makes him feel healthy and like he can contribute to your lives.
Sending you a huge hug!

Dear Wanda, When I read your journal, I remembered M\'s attitude about doing \"his\" duties around the house. I didn\'t want him to work his body so hard, but I felt that if I took away the things that made him feel he was okay, then I\'d be telling him he is too sick. It is a difficult thing to balance. I think it is okay for you to \"let it be\"..... I pray that Steve will always be able to mow the lawn and complete his chores. Love you, Linda

Hi Sweetie!

No doubt that Steve needs this break from Sutent. Nausea is horrific! Bless his heart!

Linda is so right about letting Steve do the chores he feels up to. I love that she said \"let it be\". I needed to hear that too. Thanks, Linda!

Enjoy your weekend, Wanda.

Hugs,
Ingrid

Wanda,
It is good to hear that Steve is able to mow and do some \"heavy lifting\" around the house. For Geff, I am finding that when he has accomplished something he has a better attitude and a chance to deny that he is sick and not as strong as he once was.

Wanda, I know just what you mean about our men doing things they want to do, they are so independent and just want to be able to do the things they\'ve always done. There were so many times I had to bite my tongue when I saw Bob doing something I thought he shouldn\'t. Just keep lovin\' him.
