Happy birthday, X2B

The X2B informed me that she'll be going out the evening of her birthday.  Funny, I got the same gift from her on my birthday just a few weeks ago.  No cake, just quality alone time with Li'l G.   Birthday cake is a big deal to kids.  He is thankfully unaware of the cold war that his parents are engaged in at the moment.  He's too young to know that these life markers are currently allowed to slide off the calendar unacknowledged.  Don't get me started on how his first two birthdays were "celebrated".  Suffice to say that the memories provide ample support in the argument for our divorce. Anyway, I made a promise that my son will have birthday cake this week.  I'll have "Happy Birthday, Mommy" written on it, and will leave it on the kitchen counter when I head out to work.  What she does with it is her business.  I don't expect or need her thanks.  This is for him.  At two years old, you can never have too many excuses for cake.  Happy Mom's Birthday, Little GUN! GDAD
