Happy birthday to my sister Jenn! :) and Happy baking friday! :) birthday party celebration later on today, and we also baked some nice cinnamon muffins, and onion rings today. :)
my family and i hope everyone is enjoying a nice peaceful day. :) We thank you all so very much, for your lovely happy birthday wishes for my sister Jenn. :) i'll share your nice birthday wishes with her. :) We're going to her home later on this afternoon, and going to have a birthday celebration. :) it's going to be very nice, and a fun time. : )We're gonna be having foods, snacks, and drinks there. :) We got Jenn's birthday gifts all set. :) it's gonna be very nice, having a celebration. :) You all will be with us in spirit. :) We love celebrating these special times with you all. :) We'll be heading on over to Jenn's home around 3:30pm :) We're picking up her birthday cake at big y supermarket. :) i'm going to take a picture of the cake, and will have a full update in my journal tomorrow with pictures. :)
It's a snow day here today. wow! we woke up to a winter wonderland, we got about 5 to 10 inches of snow out there. it's still snowing this afternoon. schools are closed for the day. :) Kayla and Taylynn are enjoying their snow day. :) We baked goodies today, and they're also watching tv. :) my mom's been spending some time getting everything organized, for the birthday celebration for Jenn. :) i got Jenn a nice happy birthday card, and a dunkin donuts gift card. :) i've been taking it easy, and slow today. i'm not feeling well. yesterday i began to feel a sore throat, and woke up feeling achey and weak this morning. i didn't make it outside for my early morning nature walk. i did make some nice wheat toast, english muffin, and had a ginger ale. :) i've also been having some powerade drink, and took a cold medicine tablet. :) i don't think it's a full cold, but an oncoming cold that i'm trying to get ahead of, so that i can feel much better soon. :) Thank you all for your well wishes. :)
Kayla, Taylynn, and i had a light baking friday adventure today. :) my mom had some nice cinnamon muffins mix she got at the dollar store, and i also thought it would be nice to make some onion rings. :) very special thanks for my mom, for giving us the nice muffins mix, and onions. :) we usually do a big baking friday adventure, but today decided to do a light adventure, as i'm not 100%, and wanted to conserve my energy and rest as much as i can, so i can get well soon. :) we still had nice traditionally fun baking friday. :) i was slicing the onions, and Kayla and Taylynn helped mix the batter dip for the onion rings. :) i was really craving onion rings lately, and had fun baking some the other day, so i thought it would be nice to bake some more onion rings. :) here is the recipe :)
2 onions :)
For the onion rings batter :)
1 cup of milk (we used half and half cream milk)
1 cup of white flour (you could probably use wheat flour too)
salt (about tablespoon)
Pepper (tablespoon)
paparika (tablespoon)
1 egg
We mixed the ingredients, and then got a bowl to put flour, and garlic powder in. :) we dipped the onion rings into the batter, and then coated the onion rings in flour/garlic powder. :) i also put a little melted butter on top of the onion rings while they were baking. :) i could still smell a bit, the scent of onion rings baking, is a really delicious scent. :)while the onion rings were baking, we prepared the cinnamon toast crunch muffins. :) my mom found nice muffins mix at the dollar store. :) we got a nice big bowl, and the 2 best eggs ever! :) and began to stir and stir. :) i could smell the cinnamon scent. :) we got some nice baking cups :) the onion rings finished baking, they came out nice and golden crispy. :) yum! :)i had a few onion rings with ketchup for dipping. :) my mom had an onion ring. :) it's a really nice recipe, and so easy to make. :) i put the cinnamon muffins into the oven to bake. :) it was really nice and cozy warm in our kitchen. :) Kayla, Taylynn, and i were talking about how next week, we're going to bake nice St. Patrick's day themed goodies. :) cookies, donuts, and maybe some other goodies too. :) the cinnamon muffins finished baking, they came out really good. :) before we baked them, we put the nice cinnamon struessel topping on the muffins. :)
It was nice getting to bake for a little while today. :) We're having a good day. :) i'm gonna bundle up, dressing warm, when we go out later on this afternoon. :) We'll have a good time at Jenn's birthday celebration. :) i'll be back online in the morning, and will look forward to sharing all about the birthday celebration in my journal tomorrow, with pictures. :) my family and i thank you all so much, for all that you do for us. :) You all are wonderfully nice, and sweet, and are very special friends. :) We appreciate everything, with all of our hearts. :) big group hug :) i'm gonna get a good night's rest tonight after Holly and i watch ghost adventures on the travel channel. :) i hope to feel much better by tomorrow morning, i would love to go shopping. :) my family and i are thinking of you all, and we hope you all have a wonderfully safe, fun, and happy weekend. :) There's many great things to look forward too. :)

Never really thought about looking for mixes at the dollar store. Really good tip as I know my FAV dollar store has a couple of isles with food. I guess I don\'t do many mixes as I like to control my ingredients when I do bake...
Pupz and I had a quiet day here on the farm with Guy off doing a job with a friend... He\'s not yet home and I\'m really STARVING... Ate an apple to try to tie me over until dinner with Guy... Figure if I get too famished, I\'ll just eat without him. I really love our dinners together even if it\'s nothing terribly special...
Dumpy is off visiting somewhere... I\'m sure he\'ll show up when Guy gets home in a bit... That\'s normally his MO... LOL...

Hi Sweet Chris, I enjoyed reading your journal. Thank you. It sounds like a really nice Baking Friday. The Cinnamon muffins looked really good, I\'d love to make them too sometime. I will check the Dollar Store for the box of cinnamon mix and make some time. I\'m sure my family and I would love to have them, the muffins you all made looked delicious. I hope you all have a wonderful time celebrating your sister Jenn\'s birthday at her home. It is neat that you have nice gifts and will bring over a cake. I love how you all celebrate your birthdays. You all do such a nice job. It is really nice of you to get a Duncan Donut gift card and also a nice card for your sister. She will like that a lot. There are all kinds of neat things to buy at Duncan donuts from neat drinks you tell us about to neat donuts and other things too. I am really sorry to hear that you are battling a start of a cold. I hope it won\'t get far and you will be ok. I know what you mean I am sort of at that point too. I had a sore throat this morning, then it sort of went away but was there then it hurts again but not as bad as the morning. That will be neat that you watch Ghost Adventures with Holly. It is nice that you got some nice snow and you are enjoying it. Soon it is going to be spring. We had some heavy rain and it is raining again now which is nice because it is good for the plants but I heard that it hailed here and it looked like snow, I missed it but that is the loud noise I was hearing with the rain.
