Happiness is a warm GUN

For those scoring at home, GUN is the acronym formed by my son's name.  Yes, it is really cool, and it establishes his alpha-male status right from kindergarden.  I've already introduced him as my Li'l GUN to friends.   About 2 & 2/3 years ago, Li'l GUN became the most important thing in my earthly existence.  I put little value in physical appearance of children, but he remains the most perfect example of God's handiwork I've ever seen.  Strangers have stopped us on the street to acknowledge his beauty.  I do my best to remain humble in those moments.  Sometimes I succeed. Showing him off to friends and family became the greatest joy in my life.  My brother and I do not share a fraternal bond that requires regular contact.  To be honest, you can argue that we are estranged.  He'll readily admit that he suffers from mild to moderate depression, which makes him distant.  Be that as it may, he saw my son just about two years ago for the first time.  He sought me out as he was leaving to say that he was glad he took the time to visit.  "Seeing your son made my week.", was the quote that I remember.  I managed to cough out a thanks, and we haven't had any further contact since. My brother has a son, by the way.  He recently got a job with Morgan Stanley.  I happen to be his godfather.  Yeah, you can argue my brother an I are estranged.  Just don't be so sure it's an argument that you'll win. This Sunday is Father's Day.  My brother's 21st, my third.  Happy  Father's Day, big bro.  Let's circle back a year from now, maybe at the folks's place.  You bring your MP, and I'll bring my L'il GUN. We owe it to them, and ourselves. GDAD
