Hanging tough

Just have a few minutes to update everyone.  I am hanging in there.  I had to get off my muscle relaxer and my anti-inflammatory to prepare for the upcoming LESI (lumbar injection) on Tuesday July 2.  These were the two med.s I could take and function at work.  I have been incredibly sore and stiff at work, but when I get home, I can take the " Good Stuff" if need be, and here lately, there has been that need.  I've also started on Neurontin which was strong at first, but I seem to be adjusting to it well.  It seems to help with the nerve pain.  Lots of time spent in the pool.  Making plans to refinance my mortgage so I can afford to continue to stay where I am until I can figure out somewhere else to go.  I've had an interesting offer from my best friend to move into his house.  He is building another structure on his property that will be like a barn, but upstairs he's building an open-floor plan house of sorts with a bedroom, great/game room, kitchen, bath.  Downstairs will be a greenhouse, garage, storage for tractor, equipment, etc.  He wants to form an "association" I would buy into and be part-owner in all of it, living in the house he is in now, which is GREAT.  It's much smaller than mine, but I'm looking to down-size.  It's all hardwood floors (no vacuuming - except rugs).  Best of all it's in the MIDDLE OF THE WOODS, and yet in town (recently annexed by the city) sitting on 9 acres.  It's only a few miles from my timberland.  Better yet, I could afford to put in an ENDLESS POOL and have a building erected over it, which would allow me to swim year round in total comfort.  It's an intriguing idea, but we'll need to work out all the details legally.  I told him if we don't get all that worked out we could end up on Judge Judy!  So, I'm holding off a while, but still casting about for other options.  It's going to be hard to go from country back to town.  I've gotten so accustomed to just hearing birds, dogs, trains.  I don't want to hear traffic, thumping bass in cars, sirens, etc.  Overall, much better attitude.  Hopeful, grateful for all I have: great job, great friends, great family.  Great life.  Great God.  Thanks for all your continued support and encouragement.  I am:  Five months, and going on two weeks smoke FREEEEEEEE!

I\'m glad you are hanging tough. You\'ve got true grit, carried, and I really admire it. Your friend\'s idea is really interesting. I like it that you and he are thinking outside of the box about housing arrangements, being creative and finding something that could work well for both of you. I agree about getting the legal details hammered out in advance, especially about what happens if one person needs to move, or, hate to say it, dies unexpectedly? What happens to the other person\'s share, how is it affected, and what are the survivor\'s rights? All of this can be worked out to everyone\'s satisfaction, but you need to find the right lawyer who will help you achieve your goals.
