hanging in there - sometimes by my fingernails!
Yes, still smoke freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, but whoo, there are them DAYS, ya know? Haven't yet found the almost immediate stress reliever cig.s SEEMED to be, although breathing seems to get me about halfway there. I had a client describe it - he recently had pneumonia and has had a triple heart bypass but had gone back to smoking. He is now quit 2-3 weeks since going into the hospital, and says the thing he misses most is the "dizziness" or "high feeling". I guess I can really identify. It's like you got that little dizzy feeling, and right afterwards, the calm. I can get a little "high" from breathing deeply, but the mellow ain't all the way mellow. Sounds like I might need to start smoking something else! (lol) Anyhoo, just venting. It's been CRAZY at the mental health center lately, and that seems to carry over into my off hours, or better said, I carry it over into my off hours. Not easy to shake off at times. I have been enjoying hot baths and playing Hoyle games on my COMPUTER AT HOME. (that's right, folks, I'm coming out of the dark ages - no internet yet, have to wait on my financial situation to right itself some more, but dangerously close) I play Wii, and do a walk video SOME, but not as often as I had been walking before winter set in and hibernation mode kicked in. Playing with my new puppy is fun, but again, it's cold outside. (I'm so sick of it.) Not a wine or anything else drinker for that matter, and don't want to take it up since I have been able to get off my diabetic medicine LEGALLY with the dr.'s recommendation, even. (yay, me!) Maybe if I can just hang in there, spring is a-comin', and the outdoor walks will be the answer. Since writing this, I recognize I do need to get off my lazy tookus and at least do the walk video. I know I'll feel better, calmer, and WARMER afterwards. Thanks all of you who keep sending encouragement. This week and last have been real trials.....
