Hanging in there
10 days in a row over 10k! My game plan is to keep going with that and see how far I can take it. Eating yesterday was great. No junk, low carb, low cal. Went to the Y last night and went to my Healthwise class. There were 2 personal trainers there and we had a great talk. Some of the topics: heart rate, using equipment, doing what feels right to you. Also, I did not realize, blonde hair, blue eyed, fair skin, small body frame is much much more susceptible to osteoporosis! The way to combat this? Weight bearing exercise. So my heart rate, exercise, etc after last night- I am on track. I felt pretty good about that. I then did 36 min on the treadmill, 25 min lower body weights, and 5 min stretch. We are going to get a yoga instructor in to teach us some basics. Maybe then I won't be so intimidated by Yoga. I think the pairs of pants in my closet that are 1 size down are really helping my motivation right now. It is so frustrating when you are losing weight and put forth all kinds of effort and don't "see" the results. I think what is getting me over this bump, is that for the first time in a year, people are coming up to me and saying "are you losing weight?" And going down a size in clothing. I am now beginning to "see" the change. I love it and it is pushing me to keep going. Phew! It's only been over 13 months! Busy at work. Got a few things done yesterday. Need about 8 more really productive days to really begin to feel the affects. But I will try to stay focused. President Obama is coming to my church today for Jean Biden's funeral. Secret Service are all over the place. They are meeting at one location and being bused to the church. No pocketbooks or any bags of any kind allowed. Obviously I am not on the invite list. (Jean Biden is VP Joe Biden's mother.) I have to say that I belong to a beautiful church (Immaculate Heart of Mary), but wonder why they chose that one. Maybe for security? St Anthony's and St Peter's Cathedral are huge and beautiful. My church is not that large. Well, gotta go and get back to work. Thanks to all of my friends for all of your support! Love you all! I will try to check in throughout the day to read some journals and catch up!
