Hang Out with Julio

Today I hung out with my friend Julio. I had a lot of fun. We just went to go get tea, and so we went to the Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf again, which is one of my favorite hang out spots here in LA. I had my normal English Breakfast Tea Latte and a citrus poppy seed scone. The scone was yummy, and it was the lowest calorie thing on their shelf. It was about 200 calories. I don't know yet how I did on my food... I'm going to do that when I'm done. Anyway, when we were in the car, Julio put on some music and we car-seat danced to them. One of them was something like “Moves Like Jagger” or something like that by Maroon 5 and Christina Aguilera. I've known Julio since my freshman year of high school, so we go back 15 years. I got him to join the church I used to go to, and he's still there. He's doing well there... it gives him a sense of support, so I'm fine with it. This is the cult I used to be in. It's not damaging him like it did to me. I'm actually going there on Sunday to see some of my old friends (and not so much friends) just to see how everyone's doing.
I don't consider me going to church as an atheist hypocritical. I'm not going to deny to anyone that asks that I'm an atheist, but I'm also not going there to convert anyone. I just want to go to see people, that's all. I know many people use church just as a social outlet. I know this church isn't like that for the most part, but oh well. Julio isn't going to be there this Sunday when I go... he's going up to Monterrey Bay for something. I'm glad I got to hang out with him tonight. He kept on saying he couldn't believe that I was a Rivera now, since that's his last name too. He joked that I went out and married the first Rivera I could find to get his last name. I should have joked back that he took my “twin” to prom just because he couldn't take me. My “twin” is this girl I knew in middle school ad high school who looked a lot like me. I didn't go to my school prom, I went to the church prom. The church I was in (the cult) had their own prom and everything. It was nice, and I did have a lot of fun. I didn't start having problems in the church until I got to college, so it was all puppies and cake.
Other than that, I went for a walk today. I didn't do my strength training yet... I don't know if I'm going to keep doing it. I think I will wait until I'm back in Miami and have access to the gym again to do it. I just don't feel like doing wall push ups anymore. I would rather work out on the machines in the gym at home. I don't know why it's different, but it is. I guess I will just have to see. Anyway, I walked a mile today in my fastest time yet! 25 minutes. I jogged part of the way, and it was on hills, so there was some downhill jogging, but there was also some uphill jogging as well. I walked the last big hill a bit fast too. I wanted to get home quick because I knew I was making good time and could possibly beat my old time of 27 minutes. But that 27 minutes was an average over 2 miles, so who knows what I can do when I get home. I think having the hills make it easier, though. I don't know why, but it's easier to run when you know you are going to be going downhill soon. I got new shoes today, so I went for the walk and jog to try them out. I like them.
My mood today was good. I got good sleep last night and went to run errands with my stepdad. I think having something to do during the day makes the day go by faster. Tomorrow my stepdad is going to be listing stuff on Ebay all day, so I'm going to have to find something to do besides my walk. He sells little figures on Ebay for money sometimes, and today and tomorrow they are letting you list for free, so he's trying to get as much as he can on there.
Food today was good, actually. I didn't have the full scone at Coffee Bean, and my tea was nonfat. At least I think it was. I was in my calorie range and in my range for all my nutrients. I'm glad, since I've been all over the place with my calories. I think that's a good thing, though.. eating more calories one day and less the next to keep my body guessing. I had 2 breakfast burritos for breakfast, and soup for dinner. I'm high on sodium, but that's okay. I'm not as worried about sodium anymore since I read an article about how it's not as bad for us as people said. I just need to keep drinking water. I haven't been drinking too much water, I've been drinking tea, milk and orange juice lately. I know that stuff is good for me, but it's still calories I'm drinking. Stress today was low... I had a great day!
