I make wet felted stuffed toys and have recently become aware of labeling requirements and safety testing. I’m trying to untangle the information I’m reading.

The baby section features a small but well-curated selection of must-have infant items, including swaddles, teethers and soft toys. One of my favorite things about Landis’ Early Years is that they always have plenty of Corolle dolls and accessories in stock. Also worth mentioning is the train table in the center of the store, where kids love to play while Mom or Dad shops. Both Landis stores provide complimentary gift wrapping with purchase. Leo the lion was just too irresistible to pass up. The quality of this animal is outstanding. It will be something my son will cherish forever. Thank you for all the hard work and love that is put into these animals.

Even added an initial to Hubert to customize it for my niece. Exactly what we wanted from the product and organization. The work is handmade and looks high quality. I bought this for a friend who’s expecting her first baby soon and she absolutely loves it.
It’s great to see this issue being discussed – so few people seem to realise that safety laws apply to small handmade sellers as well as the big businesses. With companies that make all kinds of products from jewelry to pet products, ceramics, fashion accessories, toys and apparel. There is no exception based on the size of the operation.
We have been SO surprise when looking at toys and seeing 3+ stickers on almost everything, even with no small parts. We have noticed that items, such as toy wooden cars, are labeled as 3+ because they have the “potential” to have small parts if broken? This has been discouraging because it seems like anything we make, even if it is not made to be able to be choked on, it can always have potential if broken. We saw a large ball the size of a baseball that had a choking warning on it because it has something inside it that if broken open might be checkable.
But I also just made a bean bag baby for a family member and even though the child is three there is a younger family member and I am already worrying about it. So I know I will not be using this in my shop. I asked you before about safety eyes for little ones, and I likewise will not be using those. Softies for me are an add on, a cute extra and not worth the worry.
