Halloween - hard time

I was not fond of Halloween but it never haunted me.  All I saw was a day for kids to get candies and treat, for them to dress up, and for adults, another reason for parties.
Last year and this year and maybe from now on, I take different prospective or viewpoint.
It is hard to see the decorations - esp. when they hang something up (since my son died from hanging).  It is hard to see R.I.P. in people's yard.  It is hard to see other horrific scene.
Last year, I put a sign and obstacles on my door steps so they could not even come up to the front door to ring my door bell.  This year, I will do the same.
Sorry kids, I just can't handle it.

I understand. I use to give big Halloween parties, in my yard, every year. Tried to make it a safe place, for kids to have fun. My husband made me about 15 headstones, one year, for my fake graveyard, and I used epitaphs I made up. I could never, never, do that again. I know what you mean. But in some cultures, Halloween was a time, to remember those, who had passed on. I do that now instead. I write the names of all my family and friends, who have passed. Put the list on a table and burn candles, to honor them. Thinking of you Doll, and hoping some happiness comes your way, to balance the pain out, in your life. Hugs. Gsy(your friend in Ga.).

Hang in there, I think after we go through what we have gone through certain holidays take on a whole new meaning. Halloween was Lance\'s favorite holiday and he spend alot of time getting his yard ready and getting his kids just the right costume, now I feel just like you about it. We just leave before the kids come to our door and we will do the same this year. Hang in there we are always thinking of you.
Hugs, Ron
