Half a marathon
Well, today I finished the LCFB Marathon in 2 hours, 42 minutes and 28 seconds. That was about 30 seconds off last years time, which is good, it's always better to run faster each time. But, if I hadn't had to stop to pee at mile 7, I would have been 3 minutes faster! Next year, I swear, I'm wearing a Depends. Anyway. The snow flurries on mile 13 were a really nice touch. There were a lot of folks standing out in the cold holding signs to cheer us on. My favorite was "Hurry Up, We're Cold." The most tastless sign, but it made me laugh anyway was, 'You're Toyota Unstoppable!" Well, it's over. I have a lot of work to do before May and The Flying Pig. For one thing, I have go to get my diet under control. I need to quit munching on chocolate at work. We shall see how that goes. Now I'm off to a Girl Scout facilitator's meeting.
Oh, and this made me so very sad. I just read that Marie Osmond's son killed himself. On the one hand, I don't understand, I mean they had money and fame. On the other hand I do understand. When you are depressed like that, there is just this emptiness that nothing can fill. Especially money and fame. It really made me think of my sons who are off on their own. Once that happens, there really isn't much you can do anymore. Just be supportive. I really wish I could talk to my younger son who is over in the middle east. I hope he calls soon.

Congrats on the great race. Glad the weather cooperated. I heard about Marie Osmond\'s son too. Depression runs in my family and I understand the hopeless that comes from absolutely nothing. It\'s like being smacked with a wave, and sometimes people just get knocked down and can\'t get back up. I take meds for it but I don\'t know if they help or not. The wave still comes sometimes. Hope you have a great week.
