Had the Nicest Dream Last Night...

I walked into the living room of my parent's previous house that we all used to live in, and there was my brother, in broad daylight, looking as good as he ever did, and we began having one of our usual matter-of-fact conversations, about the weather, something we saw on TV, whatever!  It was so nice, so soothing.  Then, awareness kicked in, and I had to say "Markee, are you feeling alright?"  He said "Yeah, why do you ask?"  "Because you're...(dead)" I started to say, and then I began to say "No...you're not real...this isn't real" and I saw him stir, become uncomfortable, and walk off, leave the room, as I began to try to force myself back into consciousness with this world, despite the fact that it felt like he just wanted to hang out for awhile.
Sorry, Markee, it just freaked me out, and I know it shouldn't have freaked me out.  I got scared, and it pisses me off that I got scared, because, if you're visiting me, there's nothing to be scared of.  Maybe I just got scared because I thought I was dead too.  If I was, it was the nicest feeling, total peace, and not a bad way to go, in one's sleep!
I'll try to revisit you in that dream and hang out longer tonight...if you weren't really visiting me, maybe this is just me, missing that peace, that came from hanging with you.  I felt totally at peace with you.  Can't say I feel totally at peace with anyone now.  There are some great souls here at DS, but there's nobody relaxing to hang out with in person.  (sigh)  See ya in my dreams...

It\'s possible it wasn\'t just a dream, it could have been more. I\'m a firm believer in loved ones (even loved pets) that have gone on before us coming back to visit, to check up on us, to let us know they\'re ok and that they\'re only gone from this world but never gone from us. Don\'t worry about it freaking you out, Markee will understand and he\'ll come again.

Hi Koolman, I just read this post about seeing your brother, and I wanted to offer my condolences to you and your family. I had the same experience after the loss of my dear Mother. It happened exactly as you described it. I have been told that is when it really happens, between awake and asleep, between conscious and unconscious (meaning a visit from a loved one to let us know that they are still with us). I read all of your journal entries as well, and I think you are an amazing person. May God Bless You To Pieces! xoxoxoxoxo
