Had a Seizure
The night of March 30th, 2014 or early early the next morning, I had a seizure.
This one was different than the ones I have had in the past. It was Nocturnal like all the others, however I must have been heading to the washroom or heading back.
The different thing about this one was that I remember bits and pieces or what I am assuming was maybe afterwards.
I lost control of my bladder in the hall right between my room and the washroom and I faintly remember being on the washroom floor and trying to pull myself up by the towel rack and being extremely weak. I then remember being on the couch in the living room and then I woke up back in my bed. I remember being scared.
At some point I hit my head and I have a huge lump on the side of my head and scrape on my nose and forehead which looks like it may be from carpet (which is only in my room, and I did find some blood on the floor beside my bed).
This is the first time I have insured myself (other than chewing my tongue which happens with each one as they are Gran-mal), this one obviously was not as big though as my muscles were not overly sore until the day after so that is a good sign. I don't think it would have been as bad if I was in bed the whole time (which I usually am).
I gotta say though I was scared to go to sleep that next night and I think it was because I do remember some of it and I remember feeling scared because I had no strength in my body and then woke up with a beat up head.
It is now 4 days later and I am still eating soft foods (yogurt, mashed potatoes, that kind of thing), because I can't open my mouth that much without a great deal of pain in my jaw and at where I hit my head.
When I had my EEG on April 1st (which just worked out that it happened so close to my appointment), the Neurologist said it showed some activity on the Left side of my brain (which none of my EEG's have shown anything until now), the Neurologist upped my medication from 200mg of Carbamazepine twice a day to 300mg twice a day. Hopefully that does the trick.
Here's hoping I don't have another entry for a long time because that means no seizure.
