Hackintosh back to Windows
So I go to run Left 4 Dead 2, and can't do it. So I look into it and Snow Leopard requires a graphics update. I go to install and come to find out the damned thing needs 10.6.4 and I am running 10.6.8. It specifically needs 10.6.4 though, so it wouldn't allow me to install it. So this coming month I am going back to Windows. 8.1 to be exact. Mainly cause I can't be bothered to save for Windows 7 Professional having lost my copy of it. Meh, oh well, this will be something new to experience. I successfully did a Hackintosh, which is something I wanted to do for a good bit. Now I just wanna be able to game again on the computer without any complications. That and I miss being able to live stream. :/
Side note, in November I will be ordering Twilight Forever and Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls.

If it\'s business I\'m all for a Mac but anything else a strongly suggest windows 7 (eight if you have a touch screen but only then)
Macs are good fir video editing and photo editing or anything media related... windows are good for gaming.. but if you want 0 chance of a virus, go with linux. :P
I was on Windows XP for the longest time, one of the best operating systems Microsoft ever put out. However, once you get new hardware, thats when you have to make the jump to a newer OS, and thats why Windows 7 came out. I have been extremely happy with Windows 7 Ultimate. Of course I thought it was really weird that Windows 8 came out so soon after 7, but I understand now it was mainly introduced for touch screen based systems, like a portable tablet.
Sorry to hear about your Macintosh woes, if Apple would just come out with the Red Delicious OS, I am sure everything would be sweet like apple sauce. :P

Macs rule, my Macbook pro has a static drive and it boots incredibly fast as well as shutting down. I had heard that Windows 8 really sucks so when it came time for a laptop I went with the Mac over a year ago and zero frozen screens like Windows is notorious for. Just an opinion from one Mac user.
Cyndy, I occasionally get freezing on OS X on a non apple computer. But that\'s after leaving it on for days at a time. I never once had freezing with Windows 7. I also have booted each OS from a solid state drive, which has 0 moving parts, so it\'s like flash. OS X in general is better with a mac computer, but putting it on a non apple computer is a pain and a half. Especially if you have a nvidia card. Only certain OS X versions support current nvidia models. I had to take out my GT 630 and put in a Radeon HD 6450 just to fix the problems I was having with not being able to change the resolution, for 1 and 2 YouTube and FB playing videos with audio only and no picture. OS X is a niche when it comes to hardware compatibility. Hence why I am going back to Windows. Hell if I am ever feeling tired of Windows again, instead of erasing it from my SSD like I did with my hackintosh, I will simply just build a cheap computer and run ubuntu.
I have been using Windows 7 for 3 years now, in my experience, the OS never crashes. But more often then not, a application will crash, though its not all the time no, but sometimes an app or game will crash and I have to do the typical CTRL ALT DEL. I find that Windows 7 is super stable, and if you have the ultimate version like me, you added added compatibility for older 32bit software and games. Its rare when I need to fire up a Windows XP virtual OS simulator on Windows 7 to run an app.
I have been using computers since the 80\'s, the real reason why MACS were popular, is because they didn\'t get virus\'s on them due to their Unix based architecture. However, in an effort to be more compatible with Windows based software and games, MAC\'s no longer operate the same type of OS they once did, and now they are every bit susceptible to virus\'s as Windows based PC\'s are.
MAC\'s were always found in business\'s and schools because of their dependability and for their security. But these days I don\'t see any reason to get a MAC, you will have more flexibility with a PC anyways, especially for game support. Plus, windows based pc\'s are cheaper, Apple is well known for selling 3,000 dollar machines, where as you can get the same power out of a 1,000 dollar windows pc.
