Gun Ownership

This latest slaughter in Orlando has me convinced to get a CWP and buy a small, concealable handgun to go in my camera bag, to at least have a fighting chance to protect myself in my many planned stock photo excursions, especially down to Miami at night.  Lincoln Road and A1A outdoors with its hordes of people is just as juicy a place for a mass-murder as the nightclub in Orlando.  A .22 or .380 ain't gonna do anything against a military-grade automatic assault rifle spraying bullets everywhere, but at close range, from behind a bush or under a table, with the element of surprise, it might just be the kill shot that prevents some sick fuck from doing me and those around me in.  Plus, God knows what kind of humanity I'm going to encounter in certain parts of Miami at night.

I am so sorry for what happened in your state. I understand your fear. I believe in the right to own a gun for self protection. I do not believe that anyone should be able to buy an assault rifle, though my husband disagrees with me. But I certainly think they should make background checks more thorough. What is this world coming to? All over the world, people are being terrorized. I pray the good will overcome the evil in this world someday.

Thanks, Sadie. I think most people in the world, with the exception of organized groups like ISIS, are good, decent, loving human beings. It\'s the few sickos mowing the rest of us down that concern me. We have to be vigilant, aware of the people around us and prepared.
