Gun Control

I don't know why everyone's arguing about guns. long-range weapons are mankind's worst ever invention and they're terrible and the world would be so much better if no one even knew that they were a thing. wanting guns to be regulated in order to try to prevent violence is not something that should be laughed at or taken offensively. it's people coming together to try to take a step in the right direction and some of you are getting way too angry over it. if guns are the most important thing in your life you need to reevaluate. your life.

Tabby,
You\'re right, the world would be better without violence. Unfortunately, violent weapons WERE created so criminals CAN get them. The Newtown school and Aurora theater were both gun free zones, problem is,
all that did was disarm law abiding citizens that could have stopped those shootings. Remember, gun laws only affect law abiding citizens. Criminals don\'t follow the law. Bad people will get guns no matter what while law abiding citizens are left defenseles simply because they abide by the law. Remember, you can pass laws until the cows come home but criminals will still get guns. We have the right to protect ourselves against said criminals and a tyrannical government which is why we have the second amendment.

I understand that people want to be able to own guns in order to protect themselves. I defend that right. I do believe however that there need to be more limitations and control. What disturbs me is that I have not seen a SINGLE person who is supposedly defending their second amendment rights who is willing to accept ANY compromise on the the type of weapons or amount ammo that should be allowed. And believe me I\'ve been very actively involved in debating the issues. My oldest son has his conceled carry and is very vocal on the gun issue. He believes that there should be no changes made, only stricter enforcement of current regulations. Almost everyone he knows disagrees and is offended by all of the NRA supported messages that he posts on facebook. He has alienated most of the people he knows and refused to even attend the family Christmas gathering because he was asked not to carry his gun. There would have been 11 children present and some of the parents were not comfortable with him carrying. Because of his extreme attitude his 3 children didn\'t get to spend Christmas with us and their cousins. He and so many others are acting like children asked to give up their toys. It\'s really sad for everyone concerned.
