Guilty! And Other Ramblings
Had a PPT scheduled for the day after Memorial Day. And in spite of writing it down everywhere, including putting it into my iPhone (and letting my boss know that I’d be in late), I COMPLETELY forgot about it! Which is not like me. I guess the day after a holiday is not a good day to schedule something! Anyhow, it’s been rescheduled for tomorrow & I put all kinds of alerts on my devices, so I should be OK. The alerts always work with me.
I fully expect to get the recommendation that my son should go to summer school. I’m totally prepared for that.
Got an email from a friend of my aunt’s who I’ve been consulting with on publishing her stories. He suggested putting them on Wordpress.com, which would give them the benefit of copyright AND a wide readership. (I had been thinking of self-publishing.) I don’t know why I hadn’t thought of it! And I don’t know why my aunt hadn’t thought of it either, being the internet junkie that she was. It’s the perfect solution, I think, and I get the fun of setting it up & doing the design & everything. Can’t wait to get started & to spread the word!
This past weekend, I went to the library to go on Ancestry.com, since they’ve released WWII US Navy records. Got some info on my grandfather, great-grandfather & great uncle. And last night I was looking up the history & images of their ships. Interesting stuff!
Next weekend I’ll be going with my daughter’s troop for an overnight hike on the Appalachian Trail. I think it’s 7 miles out & then back. I think my old body can handle it—at least I hope so! It should be fun, because the area we’re hiking on is real scenic.
