Guilt - recipient

Recognition for a job well done is motivational. When you do something and you put your heart in it, usually the result is an accomplishment. I am a workaholic and I appreciate when my work gets a pad in the back because of the result it provided.
Something interesting is happening in my professional world and I am not so sure how to interpreter or react: someone at a higher level, above mine, did me harm. It is something that I am not comfortable to share. I trust he either feels guilty for what he did or is concerned that the emails sent to me could get him in HR hot waters or fired.
My approach has never been and will not be to harm anyone even if I was hurt because I believe and pray that God is the one who will take care of these issues. Yet, I don't want to receive any recognition from such person out of guilt because it comes from "bloody hands. ' I am sure you know what I mean.
This is sad and disturbing.
