Guest Speaker
I got a call from the hospital earlier. They wanted me to be a guest speaker for the kids in the drug program. It was short notice and I had nothing prepared so I winged it. My mind was blank so before I spoke I took a deep breadth and said a little prayer to my Higher Power asking for the right words to say. Before I knew it, an hour had gone by so I asked for questions from the audience. I asked the audience questions as well. It was a great interaction! I think I gave them something to think about, at least I hope I did. As I left, some of the IOP members told me I was much better then the speaker they had last week. While driving home, I called my sponser on my cell phone because he wanted to know how things went. So I said, I can sum it up by saying that they liked me better then the speaker they had last week. My sponser said." I was last week's speaker!" Oh well! God Bless everyone!

Hugs. Your approach is in my mind absolutely the BEST approach to take- put out some information, then find about the shape of the trouble ask questions and answer any questions that they have as honestly as you can. Treat them like adults. Kids have had it up to their \"gills\' with being treated as a child. Because when people treat others as they were treated as a child, it gives the impression that the question was also a childish answer.
