Grrr.... frustrated with myself.

Now that I'm beyond the things that were causing me anxiety, I'm finding myself frustrated.   To the point, that mid-day at work, I wind up stuffing my face with food.    Like I can't stop.   There are times I even catch myself thinking - "how fast can I shovel it in?"

It's not satisfying.   It's definitely not healthy.  And most definitely not going to help me reach my goals of being fit this summer.

What's causing me to do it?   FEAR.  And I don't even know why I'm afraid.   GRRR.  Gees, this is SO silly.   I climb a volcano, legs shaking - whole body shaking actually - from my fear of heights, and I didn't think about food once - just took a deep breath, made sure I was standing stable, and MOVED.  Yet I sit in my office, and here it comes.   Pretzels - eat half a bag.   Soda - 6 cans yesterday!  Luckily, everything else is healthy... soups, milk, granola bar, healthy sandwich...   and I don't eat THEM.

TODAY.  I'm going to review my fitness books (Body For Life and Transformation by Bill Phillips) and start with a SET plan.   Get myself back in line mentally.

Darn it!   I'm GOING to do this!   GRRR.

I really like a lot of Bill Phillips methodologies. His program is a good mix of strength and cardio.

I really think food is food, please DO NOT beat yourself up, it actually will perpetuate future negative encounters with food. Just think of it as shifting your lifestyle and ooops! sometimes you will slip and fall into some unhealthy old patterns and heck, just plain ole good tasty treats.

We all deserve them. Bill has some good chapters about cheat days and/or meals. Check it out.

Find your trigger. I found that when I was feeling fear, I would tend to overdo things (mine was sleeping). I would have to get in touch with my feelings and find out what was making me fearful--find the trigger.

Sending hugs!
