Grrrrr...

Ok, this is insignificant really, but since I am sitting here with my blood boiling, I'm going to write it down. I'm getting ready for work. He tried to call twice while I was outside starting the car, then trying to fashion some kind of litter box for my cat. He is an indoor/outdoor cat, but since the temp hasn't gone above 18 degrees the last couple days, he doesn't really want to go out even to use bathroom. I definitely can't leave him out there and I am getting ready to leave for 11 hours while I go to work. It is currently 9 degrees. Anyway,I call him back, Timmy not the cat, and tell him what I was doing. He starts lecturing me about how there are indoor and outdoor cats, they are born outside, and he is cold blooded so the cold doesn't bother him. I tell him that's not true, he is a mammal just like us. He starts yelling at me"you think so!? You think so!?" And promptly hangs up on me. Grrrrrrr....

\'Tween us (shhh, don\'t tell him) *I* think so too.

More seriously, it\'s NOT insignificant. If it makes you feel bad, it\'s significant. You have a right to your feelings. As you have said yourself, you have been trained to accept bad treatment as good, because it\'s not AS bad as the really bad. And so, him treating you like a piece of shit who doesn\'t know anything and isn\'t allowed to express an opinion, seems to be \"insignificant\". Your feelings are significant. How you feel matters.

Just an aside, he really IS an idiot. If cats WERE cold blooded, all the more reason to bring them inside and keep them warm, since they would be unable to regulate their own temperature. But then, what would I know. Cats are cold-blooded and therefore will be fine buried in snow. Or something. Pffft.

It\'s not insignificant if it bothers you. We tend to shrug things off because we get so used to the crappy, half assed behaviors and treatments from them. He talked disrespectfully to you and hung up?! He\'s an ass!

I don\'t know about cats and all but irregardless. He treated you badly.

Sweet, he would probably love for you to think it was insignificant because then he could make you feel bad... but the other gals are right. He\'s talking crap - again. If it matters to you, it MATTERS :) Oh, and abusers are frequently as hurtful to pets as they are to people. They just see them as \'things\' too. Never trust him to give two hoots about your kitty, or any other animal for that matter. Hugs xxx
