group meeting
I was invited to attend a group meeting with our area "drug committee" headed up by our local drug task force that covers about 8 school districts - there were only 4 reps present this morning. This group made up of two people (drug educator and drug force agent) ~ developed a program last year (a teen leader group) to help some teens set a good example and to keep them on the right path. I guess that's what their mission is.
Anyway, I was just a guest at this meeting (because I had a survey to pass out to school reps to help with my presentation) and I promised myself that I wouldn't get on soap box about my views about schools adopting some kind of parent mandatory drug programs when parent education was brought up but - I did. I couldn't help myself when one of the administrators said that 20% of parent attendance is decent %. I know it is better than it once was, and I know people tell me that over and over again, and that "if you only help one person, you made a difference", and I try and buy it but I can't. I could be wrong - but I think there's a reason for this passion but then again - maybe not. I am struggling. So - I have to remind myself that to again pray to the Holy Spirit for guidance. After all ~ I believe that it's no coincidence that I was asked to present "What the Schools Can Do" at the opiate convention. It's no coincidence that I was invited to this meeting. So I think I just answered my "confusion". Pray and take a deep breath!

Coincidences; no, you are right, you are probably right where you should be, doing what it\'s needed for you to do.
And making a little noise about why you are there never hurts. The folks on the task force need to know you are there, because you are supporting their cause in your, and your agency\'s, way.
Good on you!
