Ground Beef Dreams

This morning I woke up yet from another dream about my ex husband and his invisible faced new wife.  I do not know if he's even married and I don't even know why I was dreaming about him.  In the dream I was throwing away all his things as they both watched.

I woke up angry and bitter.  Dreams like these, even though rare, put me into a funk. Possibly I ate a mini MoonPie too close to bed...who knows?  I can't remember the last time Ive had two dreams night after night.  I'm over it.

The resentment and anger is flaring here at work.  Some believe we ahould all be home while others need their paychecks and I think we have taken good precaution.  In crisis like this you really find out who are truly the takers and the givers.  I am not getting involved in that Corona Drama.

While people race to fight over TP, has anyone noticed the ground beef shortage?  I did manage to get my hands on 4 lbs of beef last week.  This whole experience has put me back into planning meals for the week as I only go to the store once a week.  Haven't done that since the kids were living at the house.

Meatloaf Monday, Taco Tuesday, Strogonoff Wed and so on and so on....No ground beef for you!  Those mystery meat crumbles are looking pretty tasty right now.

Praying for us to keep our sanity while we all go down the Corona Rabbithole or is that RabidHole?

The shortages here are as unpredictable as the masked phantoms in the aisles, the breaking down supply chains and battle fatigued store clerks. Betty Crocker is studying with her brother, Euell Gibbons these days in between making do with whatever her great hunter brings back from the Corona War Zone.

Whatever your preferred name(s) and theory(ies) for the herstorically unprecedented yaddahs out there, this beaten crazy bitch wolf is making creative use of Proper Social Distancing. Keep your mask on the proper side of the property line, ghoul. Back off or I'll sic my filthy little germ bags on you. . . This is a kid safe zone, at least for now. Germ-a-phobes and their antiseptic stenches arenae welcome here.

Are we safe yet? Would it make more sense to sequester the at risk cases than to shut down the global economy? Never mind. . . Done is done. Keeping my filthy little germ bags properly distanced from the collective chaos for as long as I can.

Are we safe yet?

I'm finding the big chain stores are the ones that seem to be out of pretty much everything meat wise. We have a couple of local specialty grocers and food-coop here that still have a good selection of beef, chicken, etc. I've been limiting my shopping to these places. Cost a little more but less depressing and frustrating than walking into these giant grocery stores with nothing on their shelves. But I'm lucky I can both afford it and have access to it. Not everyone in my city does. It's that whole food desert issue that some communities have to contend with anyway and now it's even more profound.

My dreams are super vivid these days. Not sure why. I usually remember them anyway but they seem so real. They make no sense either. I had a dream the other day that my husband and I decided to get a divorce. It felt so palpable and I felt shook up about it when I first woke. It stayed with me for a few hours during the morning. Then I had a dream the other morning that I was nominated for a best supporting actress acadmy award and Laura Dern stopped over so I could ride with her to the ceremony. No idea why I dreamt that. I hadn't seen a Laura Dern movie and I don't act. So I guess I chalk it up to just the crazy stuff that must get stored in our brains without even knowing.

I never watch mainstream news. I really think they are a part of this problem because they generate so much fear.

I seldom eat meat. I lean more toward a vegaterian diet, but I did notice the meat shelves empty in the grocery store, the last time I was there.. I went there late yesterday and now you have to wait in line. No more then 10 people at a time are allowed inside. I have been avoiding going there. I have little patience for lines.

I agree on the news thing. I am selective about my news sources too even pre COVID19. It’s good to get info from different news sources because so many are biased one way or another but yeah right now it all feels sensationalized so it’s hard to know what is speculation, fact, out right fiction and something in between.
